Abstract
The boiler has a vertical shell (1) in the base of which is a combustion chamber (6) with a low level flue outlet. an oil or gas burner (5) fires into the combustions chamber. The vessel contains primary hot water (2) which is heated directly by the fire and combustion gases and has flow and return connections (3, 4) to the central heating system. A coil (7) immersed in the primary water carries secondar water for the domestic hot water system. On the outlet of this is thermostatic mixing valve (10) with a direct connection (11) to the secondary cold feed (8). This valve mixes the heated water with the cold supply to maintain a constant supply temperature to the draw offs (9).
