Abstract

Gravity flow, inclined screen filter for removing suspended solids from a liquid. The liquid overflow a trap to stream down a screening grid through which clear liquid descends while sediment is carried over the grid to a sludge chamber, essentially, the overflowing liquid from the trap first runs over a smooth inclined plate before reaching the screening grid, this increases the speed of flow so that the liquid is less likely to deposit sediment on the grid, and it remains unblocked for longer periods. The extra liquid which is carried over grid Ps drained back via a filter sheet into the main outflow.
