Abstract
899,168. Filters. ROBINSON, F. Oct. 29, 1958 [Sept. 11, 1958], No. 29093/58. Class 46. A screen mounted in a channel 4 in which liquid to be screened flows from right to left comprises bars or lathes assembled or constructed to form an inclined, vertical or curved front limb 1, an inclined vertical or curved rear limb 2 and an intervening limb 3 so arranged that a valley is formed at C. Liquid flowing through the channel causes clogging of the limb 1 when the liquid flows over the join of the limbs 1, 3 causing solids to be deposited on the limb 3 while the filtrate falls through the screen, the solids deposited being gradually forced into the valley C where they are removed by any suitable method. The distance D is greater than the top. of the outlet from the channel and the height A is below any weir or overflow device:
