Abstract

Vacuum degasification unit for use with bar casing has a vacuum chamber in which a barometric column of a liquid molten metal can be maintained. The chamber has a perpendicular part in which the column is maintained. The chamber has in its base an inlet for liquid molten metal and an outlet controlled by a valve, through which the molten metal can be passed to a bar casting die.
