Abstract

Welding alloy comprising in wt.% C 0.5-1.2, Mn 16-22, V 0.15-1.2, Fe balance produces a strong weld when using as a welding electrode, giving a stable austenitic steel structure having a high mechanical strength and toughness. The alloy has a bend strength of about 4920 kg/cm2 and an elongation of at least 12%. It may be used to join ferrous metal parts.
