Abstract

In the invention a gas feed pipe 3 is located in the vicinity of the liquid that is to be drawn in, and a powerful, pressurised gas flow is fed to the liquid along the gas feed pipe, the gas flow breaking up the liquid that is to be pumped into drops, the liquid and the gas released under pressure forming a mixture, which by virtue of the negative pressure in the suction pipe, is conveyed along the suction pipe away from the space. <IMAGE>
