Abstract

940,555. Aerating liquids. DRYSDALE & CO. Ltd. Sept. 23, 1960 [June 24, 1959], No. 21654/59. Heading B1C. Apparatus for aerating liquids, e.g. polluted water and sewage, comprises a pump 13 for pumping the liquid from a storage tank 10 to an injector 15 at a pressure above atmospheric pressure, the injector entraining air or oxygen through a tube 16 to form a super-saturated aerated liquid and the aerated liquid then being discharged through a duct 17 to a perforated pipe or pipes 18 in the tank 10. A valve controlled inlet 11 for the liquid and a valve controlled outlet 19 for discharge of aerated liquid are provided. The tube 16 may be open to atmosphere or connected to a source of air or oxygen under pressure.
