Abstract

1. An ignition distributor for automobile vehicles of the kind comprising on the one hand, at the end of a shaft (1) entrained in rotation by a component of the engine, a rotor (2), fastened to the said shaft (1), on which an electrode (3) is fixed and, on the other hand, a sealing hood (5) which covers the distributor housing (4) and comprises means (6) which, in combination with the housing (4), assist the centering of a distributor cap (7), characterized in that it comprises, on the one hand, a seating (8) for the rotor (2) which is held suspended and connected concentrically to the sealing hood (5) by means (9) which break by themselves when the shaft (1) is made to rotate, and comprising one part of the means for aligning the rotor (2) relative to a pre-selected cylinder of the engine, and on the other hand an anti-wear washer (12) disposed between the seating (8) and a bearing (13) of the housing (4).
