Abstract

The mechanism indexes bottles and similar vessels from a filling machine to a sealing one, having a transporting spider wheel with recesses partly enclosing the bottles, above the turntable supporting those to be filled. Guide balustrades are provided to define part at least of the path followed by the bottles, together with a discharge conveyor belt for them when filled and sealed. The axes of rotation (18,23) of turntable (17) and spider wheel (22) are offset sideways for different amounts from a conveyor belt (29) delivering empty bottles (F). The recesses in the spider wheel pass over part of this belt.
