SE BASA EN LA REACCION ENTRE EL COMPUESTO DE FORMULA (II) Y EL COMPUESTO DE FORMULA ROH, O DE UNA SAL DEL MISMO, QUE CONDUCE AL INTERCAMBIO DEL BROMO POR EL GRUPO OR, DONDE R ES EL MISMO QUE EN LA FORMULA (I), SEGUIDA DE LA SEPARACION DEL PRODUCTO EN FORMA DE UN DERIVADO DE LA SERIE "S" O DE LA SERIE "SV".
