Abstract

Procedure for obtaining coating compositions based on a dispersion of particles of an addition polymer in an inert organic liquid in which the dispersed polymer is insoluble but containing between 40 and 75% by weight of a solvent for the polymer, being the dispersion stabilized by a polymeric stabilizer comprising an anchoring component that associates with the particles of the dispersed polymer and a soldered component that provides a stabilizing steric barrier around the particles, the stabilizer being further covalently bound to the dispersed polymer; characterized by comprising incorporating a degrading resin having reactive groups chosen from methylol and alkoxymethyl, the dispersed addition polymer containing: (a) reactive groups capable of degrading with said degrading resin and (b) carboxylic acid groups capable of catalyzing the reaction of degradation.
