Abstract

Composición de acetaminofeno de liberación prolongada que comprende una pluralidad de partículas discretas que contienen acetaminofeno el cual, cuando está contenida dentro de una cápsula de gelatina y sometida a ensayo de acuerdo con el procedimiento aceptado USP 23/NF 18 en una cesta rotatoria de un aparato USP I a 50 rpm en 900 ml de tampón fosfato a pH 5, 8 y 37ºC, presenta una disolución de 40 a 53% de acetaminofeno tras media hora, una disolución del 50 al 68% de acetaminofeno tras 45 minutos, una disolución del 57 al 77% de acetaminofeno tras una hora, una disolución del 82 al 92% de acetaminofeno tras dos horas y una disolución del 100% tras seis horas, en la que las partículas contienen acetaminofeno recubierto en semillas de azúcar/almidón, estando presentes dichas partículas como una mezcla tanto de liberación inmediata como de una forma de liberación controlada.
