EJEMPLOS CON RUBREDOXINA, DEHIDROGENASA DE LACTATO Y DE DEHIDROGENASA DE ALCOHOL MUESTRAN QUE ESTE COMPUESTO ES UN AGENTE PROTECTOR MEJOR QUE EL GLICEROL.ESTA SOLUCION SE PRODUCE MEDIANTE SINTESIS QUIMICA ORGANICA DE FORMA RAPIDA Y EFICIENTE EN TRES PASOS A PARTIR DE GLICEROL COMERCIALMENTE DISPONIBLES EN SUS FORMAS RACEMICAS. LAS FORMAS OPTICAMENTE PURAS PUEDEN SINTETIZARSE EN CUATRO PASOS A PARTIR DE D-MANITOL COMERCIALMENTE DISPONIBLE.
