Abstract

Tilting mechanism for a foldable bedstead.The mechanism has been conceived in order to tilt one of the axes of the bedstead independently of the other. That is to say, so the bedstead can tilt along the dorsal axis (4) parallelly as well as being able to on the fixed lumbar axis (3), which really constitutes a 'stretching' out of the bedstead. This helps to keep the mattress from getting squashed by the lifting tilt on the dorsal axis (4). To this end, a connecting rod (9) is placed midway along the crossbar (10) of the dorsal axis where the tilt takes place. The rod (9) is linked to two other connecting rods (13) and (14) at both ends (11) and (12). These are linked in turn to the length of the bedstead (1) - in positions (15) and (16). The end product is an adjustable rectangular frame that can tilt along its dorsal plane (4) and move away from the fixed lumbar plane (3) at the same time.
