Abstract

A liquid curtain apparatus comprises two opposed windowpanes made from glass or another transparent material spaced parallel to each other and joined along their peripheries to define therebetween a closed inner space. A container (7) for storing a liquid (6) communicates with the inner space via ducting (8, 10) and a two-way transporting means (9), eg. a pump. An opening (12) for the passage of air is provided in the upper region of the space (4), and means (14) are provided for communicating the opening (12) with the container (7) to define a closed loop. A valve (15) is connected to the communicating means (14), the valve (15) being responsive to actuation of the transportating means (9), being open when the means (9) is operating.
