ESTAS ENZIMAS ACTUAN ESTABLEMENTE EN UN AMPLIO CAMPO QUE INCLUYE UNA ZONA ALCALINA, Y SU ACTIVIDAD SE MUESTRA INCLUSO A ALTAS TEMPERATURAS. ADEMAS, TIENEN UNA FUERTE RESISTENCIA A LOS AGENTES TENSIOACTIVOS, A LOS AGENTES QUELANTES Y A LAS PROTEINASAS.
