Description

Technical field of the invention

The present invention relates generally to an article of jewelry, and the invention relates in particular to articles of jewelry with several bodies to be worn by a user, such as rings or buckles. In more detail, the present invention relates to an article of jewelry such as a ring, a bracelet or a necklace which may comprise several bodies to be worn by a user, such as rings or buckles hinged together.

State of the art

In the prior art of jewelry articles, we know the document FR2705539A1 which discloses a piece of jewelry with two rings that can fold against each other. On the other hand, this system can have disadvantages related to the bulk and volume required at the joint to provide an item that is easy to wear. It can also be noted that no aesthetic and/or discreet solution is proposed to keep the rings joined together so as to facilitate use, in particular the action of putting in place, removing or handling the piece of jewelry.

Statement of the invention

An aim of the present invention is to address the drawbacks of the prior art mentioned above and in particular, first of all, to propose an aesthetic and/or compact item of jewelry or watchmaking, and/or having a discreet articulation, and yet providing easy use or handling.

It can also be noted that maintaining it in at least one of the first position or the second position facilitates handling of the jewelry or watch item, in particular for installing it, putting it on or putting it in place.

The jewelry item may further be defined by the following characteristics, taken individually or in combination.

According to one embodiment, the first ring and/or the second ring is not part of the articulation. According to one embodiment, the articulation extends over at most 35% of the periphery of the first ring and/or the second ring, preferably over at most 25% of the periphery of the first ring and/or the second ring. According to one embodiment, in a plane normal to an axis of the first ring and/or the second ring (typically a plane normal to an axis of revolution of the first ring and/or the second ring), the articulation extends over a angle of at most 60°, preferably at an angle of at most 45°, preferably at an angle of at most 30°.

Back figure 8 , the first notching pin 215 and the second notching pin 225 are each engaged in the control tracks 217 and 227 formed in the bridging member 233 housed in the cover 234.

At each end of the control tracks 217, 227, hollow housings (receiving counterforms) are provided to receive the free ends of the first notching pin 215 and the second notching pin 225, so as to define stable holding positions. On the figure 8 , the first notching pin 215 and the second notching pin 225 are each received in the upper recessed imprint of the control tracks. On the figure 9 , we only see the first axis of rotation 231, and therefore only the first two notching pins 215.

Starting from the configuration of the figure 8 (Or 9 ), and when the rings 210, 220 rotate around their respective axis of rotation, the free ends of the first notching pin 215 and the second notching pin 225 leave the upper hollow imprint at the end of control track, so that the first notching pin 215 and the second notching pin 225 undergo bending, to relax at the end of rotation in the other hollow imprint at the end of the control track. Once the free ends of the first notching pin 215 and the second notching pin 225 are received in a hollow imprint, the retaining position is well defined and maintained robustly.

In other words, the secondary locking device is carried, integrated or even directly formed on the decorative elements of the jewelry item 200, which provides a locking function when the first ring 210 and the second ring 220 are in the first position, without altering the aesthetics of the jewelry item.

Industrial application

A piece of jewelry according to the present invention, and its manufacture, are capable of industrial application.

It will be understood that various modifications and/or improvements obvious to those skilled in the art may be made to the various embodiments of the invention described in the present description without departing from the scope of the invention.

In particular, it can be noted that the main locking device can comprise ball plungers, spring blades, or any other elastic member to provide a notch between the first ring and the second ring.

Provision may be made to drive the first locking pins 215 and/or the second locking pins, and/or the first rotation shaft and/or the second rotation shaft into the bridging member, and/or into the first ring and/or into the second ring.

The invention can be used for a timepiece. Indeed, as shown in the Figure 11 representing a variant based on Jewelry Item 100 (with the outlines of Jewelry Item 100 of the figures 3 And 5 taken respectively on the left and right of the Figure 11 ), the bridging member and/or the cover of the main articulation 130 may be provided to form a case of a timepiece receiving a watch movement, with a dial 133 visible to the user only in the first position (left of the Figure 11 ), and dial 133 is not visible in the second position (right of the Figure 11 ). The opposite can be provided: the dial 133 visible only in the second position. It is also possible to provide for housing in one of the internal, intermediate or external rings the elements of a case of a timepiece receiving a watch movement, with a dial visible to the user in the first position as well as in the second position.

Claims (15)

Jewelry or watchmaking article (100; 200), comprising: - a first ring (110; 210), - a second ring (120; 220), - a main articulation (130; 230) arranged between the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) so as to allow relative rotation of the first ring (110; 210) with respect to the second ring (120; 220) between: • a first position in which a first face of the first ring (110; 210) is adjacent to or opposite a first face of the second ring (120; 220) and • a second position in which a second face of the first ring (110; 210) is adjacent to or opposite a second face of the second ring (120; 220), characterized in that the main joint (130; 230) comprises at least one retaining device arranged to retain the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) in at least one of the first position or the second position. Jewelry or watch item (100; 200) according to claim 1 wherein the retaining device comprises at least one main locking device with at least: - a follower index, and - a control track, movable relative to the follower index and comprising at least one receiving counterform provided to receive the follower index, - a flexible portion provided to allow relative elastic movement between the follower index and the control track, wherein the flexible portion is arranged to relax when the receiving counterform receives the follower index to retain the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) in the first position or in the second position. Jewelry or watch article (100; 200) according to claim 2 wherein said at least one main locking device comprises a locking pin (115; 215) comprising: - a first free end, forming the follower index, - a second embedded end, secured to a part which moves relative to the control track, - the flexible portion, arranged between the first end and the second end. Jewelry item (100; 200) or timepiece according to claim 2 or 3 wherein said at least one main locking device comprises at least two locking pins (115; 215) each comprising: - a first free end, forming a follower index, - a second embedded end, secured to a part which moves relative to the control track, - the flexible portion, arranged between the first end and the second end, and wherein the control track comprises at least two receiving counterforms each arranged to receive a first free end of one of the two locking pins (115; 215). Jewelry or watchmaking item (100; 200) according to claim 2 to 4 wherein said at least one control track comprises at least: - a first counterform arranged to receive said at least one follower index when the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) are in the first position, - a second counterform arranged to receive said at least one index follower when the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) are in the second position. Jewelry or watchmaking item (100; 200) according to one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the main articulation (130; 230) comprises a bridging member (233) comprising a first pivot connection with the first ring (110; 210) and a second pivot connection with the second ring (120; 220), the retaining device being arranged between the bridging member (233) and one of the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220). Jewelry or watchmaking article (100; 200) according to claim 6 in its dependency on claim 2, in which the retaining device comprises: - a first main locking device between the bridging member (233) and the first ring (110; 210), - a second main locking device between the bridging member (233) and the second ring (120; 220). Jewelry or watchmaking item (100; 200) according to claim 7 in which: - the first main locking device comprises two first follower indexes arranged on one of the bridging member (233) and the first ring (110; 210), and two first control tracks arranged on the other of the bridging member (233) and the first ring (110; 210), - the second main locking device comprises two second follower indexes arranged on one of the bridging member (233) and the second ring (120; 220), and two second control tracks arranged on the other of the bridging member (233) and the second ring (120; 220). Jewelry or watchmaking item (100; 200) according to one of claims 1 to 8, comprising at least one first decorative element arranged on the first face of the first ring (110; 210) and at least one second decorative element arranged on the first face of the second ring (120; 220), and wherein the retaining device comprises at least one secondary locking device with: - a secondary protrusion, arranged on one of the first decorative element and the second decorative element, - a secondary hollow shape, arranged on the other of the first decorative element and the second decorative element and arranged to receive and retain or lock the secondary protrusion when the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) are in the first position, - at least one secondary flexible portion, arranged on at least one of the first decorative element and the second decorative element and arranged to exert a force to hold in position the secondary protuberance received in the secondary hollow shape. Jewelry or watch item (100; 200) according to claim 9, wherein the retaining device comprises two secondary locking devices, separated by an angle having as its apex a center of the first ring (110; 210) and/or of the second ring (120; 220) and between 90° and 150°. Jewelry or watchmaking item (100; 200) according to one of claims 1 to 10 wherein the main articulation (130; 230) allows relative rotation between the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) around an axis of rotation tangent, or parallel to a tangent to a periphery of the first ring (110; 210) and/or the second ring (120; 220). Jewelry or watch item (100; 200) according to one of claims 1 to 11 wherein the main articulation (130; 230) is arranged between the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) so as to allow a relative rotation of the first ring (110; 210) with respect to the second ring (120; 220) of at least 340° and preferably of substantially 360°. Jewelry or watchmaking item (100; 200) according to one of claims 1 to 12 in which: - the first ring (110; 210) comprises a first internal articulation and a first internal opening/closing device, and - the second ring (120; 220) comprises a second internal articulation and a second internal opening/closing device. Jewelry or timepiece article (100; 200) according to claim 13 wherein the first ring (110; 210) and the second ring (120; 220) respectively define a first plane and a second plane, and wherein - the first internal articulation comprises a first axis of rotation normal to the foreground, and - the second internal articulation includes a second axis of rotation normal to the second plane.
