Spanneinrichtung (1), insbesondere Vertikalspanner, zum Einspannen von Werkstücken (4), insbesondere solchen aus Holz oder Holzersatzstoffen, Kunststoffe, Metall, aufweisend: ein erstes Klemmelement (2) mit einer ersten Klemmfläche (2a), ein zweites Klemmelement (7f) mit einer der ersten Klemmfläche (2a) zugewandten zweiten Klemmfläche (7a), wobei das erste Klemmelement (2) und das zweite Klemmelement (7f) relativ zueinander zum Einspannen oder Lösen eines Werkstücks (4) zwischen den Klemmflächen (2a, 7a) über eine Antriebseinrichtung in einer Klemmrichtung (Z) bewegbar sind, einen Lagerabschnitt (5), an welchem das zweite Klemmelement (7f) mit Spiel angebracht und, insbesondere in Klemmrichtung (Z), innerhalb des Spiels verschieblich geführt ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Spanneinrichtung eine Hubeinrichtung (5b, 6, 7b, 7e) umfasst, die dazu ausgelegt ist, das zweite Klemmelement (7f) relativ zum Lagerabschnitt (5) innerhalb des Spiels, insbesondere parallel zur Klemmrichtung (Z) zu verschieben.
