Abstract

The helmet storage box (2) (1) comprises a support (3) and a cover (4) mounted movable relative to the support (3) so as to define a position for inserting / removing the helmet (1) and a helmet storage position (1) in the box (2). The cover (4) defines a first opening (5) arranged to allow the top of the helmet (1) to protrude from the cover (4). Description

Technical field of the invention

The invention relates to a storage box for a helmet, to a method of manufacturing such a box and to a method of using such a box.

State of the art

For the marketing of a helmet, it is known to install the helmet in a rack in a ready-to-use configuration, that is to say that the helmet is presented raw and without packaging.

This configuration allows the user to observe all the details of the helmet but it does not make the helmet attractive because during transport, it is common to install several helmets in a container, for example a carton or a plastic film so that the helmets collide with each other.

During transport, helmets deteriorate slightly and it is common to buy a helmet that has slight bumps or scratches. Even if the mechanical performance of the helmet is preserved, scratches and shocks represent a negative a priori with the purchase. Furthermore, in this configuration, helmets are often stacked on top of each other, hung by their straps or loose.

However, this configuration is particularly advantageous during transport because it is possible to stack the helmets on top of each other to gain compactness.

A helmet has a cap, fastening straps, a technical notice and often accessories. It has been observed that when the helmets are transported stacked with each other, such a configuration does not make it possible to ensure that the technical notice which accompanies the helmet is received by the end user because it is generally stuck with straps another helmet so that the separation of the helmets stacked one on the other generates the separation and / or tearing of a substantial number of technical notices. The problem is the same when the helmet is accompanied by accessories which are installed in the shell and possibly attached to the helmet straps. The accessories are generally lost or it is necessary to reassociate them during shelving. These annoyances do not reflect a positive image of the helmet.

As an alternative, it is known to install the helmet completely in a closed box so that the entire helmet, the technical notice and the accessories are enclosed in the box. This solution is interesting but it is expensive. Indeed, it is necessary to make a box whose dimensions are greater than those of the helmet to protect the entire helmet. Furthermore, during transport and storage, it is not possible to stack the helmets optimally so that the plurality of boxes occupies a larger volume than the previous configuration. The transport and storage of several boxes occupies a much larger volume than the previous configuration.

Subject of the invention

An object of the invention is to provide a storage box which occupies a smaller volume than the boxes of the prior art and which makes it possible to better preserve the connection between the helmet and the technical notice and possibly the accessories.

The box is remarkable in that it comprises a support and a cover mounted movable relative to the support so as to define a position for inserting / removing the helmet and a position for storing the helmet in the box.

The box is also remarkable in that the cover defines a first opening arranged to allow the top of the helmet to protrude outside the cover and in that the support defines a bottom of the box with a deformable zone arranged to extend in the direction of the cover and cooperate with the top of another helmet when two boxes are stacked one on the other, the top of the other helmet deforming the deformable zone to form a recess.

In a development, the cover defines a first opening configured to form a blocking stop preventing the extraction of the helmet from the box when the box is closed.

In a particular embodiment, the deformable zone is formed by a plurality of mobile portions fixed to the support and configured to move independently of each other.

Advantageously, the mobile portions are formed by cutting the bottom of the support.

It is advantageous to provide that the mobile portions are formed by strips having a first end fixed to the bottom of the support by a deformation zone, the strips having a second end opposite the first end. The extension of the strip from the first end to the first end represents an extension towards the center of the support.

Preferably, when the mobile portions are in the same plane, they close the bottom of the support.

The invention also relates to the manufacture of a box which is easy to implement and which allows better retention of the elements attached to the helmet, for example on the straps of the helmet.

The manufacturing process is remarkable in that it includes the provision of a box provided with a support and a cover mounted movable relative to the support so as to define a position for inserting / extracting a helmet and a helmet storage position in the box. The method is also remarkable in that it comprises the formation of a deformable zone in the bottom of the support.

Advantageously, the formation of a deformable zone in the bottom of the support is carried out by cutting the bottom of the support to form a plurality of mobile portions.

As illustrated in figure 1 , for storing a helmet 1, it is particularly advantageous to use a box 2 known as a storage box which protects part of a helmet 1 and in particular the side parts of the helmet 1 and the lower part of the helmet 1. The box is advantageously configured to leave the top part of the cap free.

The box 2 comprises a support 3 and a cover 4 which cooperate to delimit a protective volume which contains part of the helmet 1 and in particular the lower part of the helmet 1.

The cover 4 is mounted movable relative to the support 3 so as to define a position for inserting or removing the helmet 1 and a position for storing the helmet 1 in the box 2.

The cover 4 can be removably mounted relative to the support 3 or the cover 4 can be fixed to the support 3 and mounted mobile. For example, the cover 4 is mounted mobile in rotation. In the embodiment illustrated in figure 1 , the cover 4 is mounted mobile in rotation on the support 3.

As illustrated in figure 2 , the cover 4 defines a first opening 5 which cooperates with the helmet 1 so as to allow the top of the helmet 1 to protrude out of the box 2 as illustrated in the figure 4 . The first opening 5 makes it possible to see the top of the helmet 1 and to touch the top of the helmet 1, which facilitates the appropriation of the helmet 1 by the future user without having to take the helmet 1 out of the box 2.

As illustrated in figure 3 , the support 3 defines a recess 6 which is configured to partially fill the interior of the helmet 1. The recess 6 is configured to cooperate with the top of the helmet 1 of another box so as to improve the installation of a box on another and gain compactness. As illustrated in figure 1 , it is possible to stack a first box 2 filled with a first helmet 1 with a second box 2 filled with a second helmet 1 one on the other. The top of the first helmet 1 of the first box 2 is inserted into the recess 6 of the second box 2 and therefore into the internal cavity of the second helmet 1.

This configuration is more compact than that of the prior art where the helmets are fully installed in boxes which substantially define a straight block.

The first opening 5 is configured so as to cooperate with the top of the helmet 1 so that the helmet 1 cannot come out of the box 2 through the opening 5. For example, the shape of the first opening 5 is complementary of the shape of a section of the top of the helmet 1. Alternatively, a dimension of the opening 5 is less than a dimension of the helmet 1 so that the first opening 5 forms a stop blocking the movement of the helmet 1.

In an advantageous configuration, once the helmet is installed in the box 1, it can no longer move vertically and laterally.

As illustrated in figures 3 and 4 , the support 3 has a bottom and advantageously one or more side walls. The bottom of the support 3 defines a mobile and / or deformable zone which moves relative to the rest of the bottom to form a recess 6 allowing the introduction of the top of a helmet from another box 1.

The recess 6 can be formed by any suitable technique and is directed towards the inside of the box 1, that is to say towards the cover 4. By way of example, the recess 6 is formed by an area made in a more flexible material than the rest of the bottom so as to allow deformation by the top of another helmet. The area of more flexible material can be formed by a net or by a sheet of plastic film. Advantageously, the recess is defined by a cardboard.

This solution is preferable to a recess 6 which is defined by a rigid wall, that is to say which does not deform and which is defined specifically for a helmet apex or for a type of helmet apex. It turns out that this configuration is also more expensive and complicated to implement.

Advantageously, the mobile and / or deformable zone is formed by a continuous or perforated material. To allow the insertion of a helmet top in the box, it is possible to define an opening in the bottom which improves the nesting of the boxes one on the other. However, the use of an opening increases the chances of the straps passing through the opening and therefore hanging which is unsightly. The technical notice attached to the strap can also be torn off during transport.

It is therefore particularly advantageous to partially close the opening defined in the bottom of the support 3 by one or more elements which are mobile. These closure elements block the straps which remain in the volume of the box 1. The closure elements move to define the recess 6.

The use of a continuous or substantially continuous recess 6 allows the straps to be kept in the volume of the box 2 and makes it possible to separate the straps of the upper helmet 1 and the top of the lower helmet 1. The same goes for the technical manual and for the accessories associated with the upper 1 helmet. When the boxes 2 and the helmets 1 are stacked, the straps of the upper helmet 1 do not come into contact with the lower helmet 1, which prevents the straps and especially the buckles of the straps from damaging the top of the lower helmet 1, which represents a brake on purchase. The top of the lower helmet presses on the mobile elements defining the recess which avoids hard contact which could mark the top of the helmet.

It is particularly advantageous to provide that the recess 6 is defined by means of a flexible wall, for example a cardboard wall which allows the flexible wall to deform to preserve the external appearance of the top of the helmet 1 and avoid contact between two rigid materials.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the recess 6 comprises a plurality of portions 7 which are movably mounted in the bottom of the support 3. The portions 7 can move and possibly deform during the installation of the upper box 2 on a another lower box 2. The movable portions 7 can be moved by the top of the helmet 1 installed in the lower box 2 so that the movable portions 7 move according to the shape of the top of the helmet 1. Alternatively, the movable portions 7 can be moved manually or by any suitable equipment in order to preform the mobile portions 7 before the installation of the box 2 on the top of a helmet 1.

As indicated above, when the movable portions 7 are made of a flexible material such as cardboard, the recess 6 is formed by stacking the boxes 1 on top of each other without risk of damaging the top of the helmet which is covered . It is then possible to quickly form a stack of several boxes in a compact manner.

In the illustrated embodiment, the movable portions 7 are formed by several strips cut from the bottom of the support 3. The strips have one end fixed to the support 3 and which defines a hinge or a deformation zone allowing movement of the strip by relative to the bottom of the support 3, for example one or more translations and / or one or more rotations.

The lateral edges of the bands are free so as to facilitate the deformation of the end fixed to the support 3 and thus adapt the position of the movable band to the shape of the top of the helmet. The strips 7 can deform and / or move independently with respect to each other to follow the shape of the top of the helmet and form a recess substantially complementary to the shape of the top of the helmet 1.

In a particularly advantageous configuration, the mobile portions 7 are formed by cutting the bottom of the support 3. It is then possible to simply form the mobile portions in the support 3. Advantageously, the bottom of the support 3 is planar before cutting the mobile portions 7 so as to form movable portions 7 which occupy a large area of the bottom to block the exit of straps, the technical notice and / or accessories.

Preferably, the mobile portions 7 are in contact with one another when the mobile portions 7 are in the plane defined by the bottom of the box 2. Even more preferably, the mobile portions 7 close the bottom of the box 2 when the mobile portions are merged with the plane defined by the rest of the bottom of the box 2.

This configuration is particularly advantageous because it makes it possible to form a box bottom 2 which is completely closed or which has openings whose dimensions are smaller than the dimensions of the straps or of the accessories. As an alternative or in addition, it is still possible to provide that the openings are arranged in locations which do not correspond to locations compatible with the position of the straps or of the technical notice or of the accessories.

In a particular mode of use, the box 2 is supplied with a continuous, non-movable bottom. A cutting step is carried out in order to define mobile portions 7 in the bottom of the box 2.

Advantageously, the cutting step defines a plurality of mobile portions which start in stars from a central point which can be punctual. It is also possible to provide mobile portions having different shapes to more easily close the bottom of the box and / or more easily block the exit of the straps.

Alternatively, the cutting step defines a plurality of movable portions 7 and it removes part of the bottom of the box, preferably at the ends of the movable portions to facilitate the movement of the movable portions towards the interior of the helmet. In this configuration, when the mobile portions are in the plane of the bottom of the box, there is an opening which is advantageously under the top of the helmet.

It is also possible that the cutting step defines the movable portions 7 and a removable element 8 which is removed during the deformation of the bottom of the box to define the recess 6. This embodiment is illustrated in Figures 5 and 6 which show a bottom of the box with the removable zone fixed to the bottom of the box and the separate removable zone after deformation of the deformable portions.

The helmet 1 is installed on the support 1, the bottom of the support 3 being flat and possibly completely closed. The helmet 1 is installed in the box 2 and the box 2 is placed on another box 2, the top of a helmet 1 protruding. The installation of the two boxes one on the other makes it possible to deform the mobile portions which adapt to the shape of the helmet. The top of the helmet presses on the mobile portions to define the recess 6.

The mobile portions partially obstruct the bottom of the box 2 to define the recess 6 which makes it possible to block or at least reduce the probability that a strap, a technical notice or an accessory escapes from the volume defined by the box 2 .

When the user takes the box 2 to look more precisely at the helmet 1, the mobile portions 7 obstruct the bottom of the box 2 so that the straps do not hang through the recess 6. The box 2 keeps the helmet together 1, the technical notice and the accessories. The first opening 5 formed in the cover 4 of the box 4 is at least partially obstructed by the top of the helmet 1, which greatly complicates the escape of the technical manual or the accessories.

In an advantageous embodiment, the shape of the first opening 5 is adapted to the shape of the top of the helmet 1 so as to fix the position of the helmet 1 relative to the bottom 3 of the box 2 and relative to the movable portions 7. Thus, it is possible to more easily ensure that the mobile portions 7 will move towards the hollow zone of the helmet 1. As an alternative or in addition, the position of the helmet 1 relative to the bottom can be defined by means of the side walls. box 1 or other elements installed in the box, for example cardboard or foam stops.

In a particular embodiment, the bottom of the box 2 is formed by a first plate which defines an opening. The opening is closed by a second plate which defines the mobile portions 7. This configuration makes it possible for example to adapt the shape of the mobile portions 7 to the shape of the helmet 1 by adapting the second plate to the helmet. This configuration allows you to use the same box for helmets that have different shapes. The bottom of the box is cut to define an opening and the opening is covered by a plate defining the mobile portions. The plate is entered in the box with the definition of the opening and before the introduction of the helmet 1.

It is particularly advantageous to form the mobile portions by cutting the bottom of the support because this operation is simple to carry out and the additional cost is minimal.

Preferably, the movable portions 7 are made of cardboard because this material is rigid enough to block the exit of the straps, the technical notice and the accessories out of the box 2 while being flexible enough to deform and define the recess 6 which cooperates with the top of helmet 1 of the box immediately below. The use of movable portions 7 of cardboard makes it possible not to damage the top of the helmet 7 on which the movable portions 7 rest.

In the illustrated embodiment, the fixing zones between the movable portions 7 and the bottom of the support define a circle or an ellipse but other shapes are available. The movable portions 7 are preferably configured so that the segment leaving the attachment zone towards the opposite movable end is directed towards the center of the bottom of the box so that the movable portions are deformed to follow the curvature of the helmet. The movable portions 7 move towards the top of the helmet.

The deformation of the deformable zone can be obtained by the top of a helmet when two boxes are stacked one on the other. It is also possible that the deformable zone is deformed by any other protruding element, for example on a shelving to improve the mechanical strength of the box vis-à-vis the shelving.

The deformation of the deformable zone by means of the top of the helmet which is introduced into the volume of the box and into the cavity defined by the other helmet improves mechanical strength. Advantageously, after stacking, the cover of the lower box comes into contact with the support of the upper box to prevent the helmets from pressing on each other as in the configuration of the prior art. The top of the helmet which is introduced into the recess makes it possible to improve the mechanical strength of the stack with respect to lateral displacements.
