- security features of documents of value are known from the prior art which have a fluorescent feature which exhibits a certain optical behavior under a testing device or a testing lamp, for example.
- a fluorescent feature which exhibits a certain optical behavior under a testing device or a testing lamp, for example.
- certain layer models are known for this purpose, which are used, for example, to produce a bank note, a passport page or a smart card.
- UV blockers i.e. plastic layers which are not permeable with regard to a certain range of a wavelength, i.e. predominantly ultraviolet light. It is therefore known to provide a layered model which has a fluorescent plastic layer which is covered with a UV blocker or a UV-inhibiting layer.
- Personalization features and security features can be combined in such a way that both are visible from outside a document of value. Visible here refers to an optical visibility that is created, for example, by the fact that corresponding fluorescent personalization features or security features are excited with a corresponding light source and then reflect light accordingly.
- the present object is also aimed at providing a value document having the proposed layer arrangement.
- a method for producing the document of value is to be proposed, or a correspondingly equipped device.
- a computer program product is to be created with control commands that execute the proposed method or operate the proposed device.
- the electromagnetic radiation is preferably ultraviolet radiation. Stimulating a personalization feature and a security feature involves exposing the underlying material that forms the personalization feature or the security feature. A light is then emitted which can be perceived, for example, by a human eye.
- UV radiation or a fluorescent material is always assumed below, although the person skilled in the art also knows other wavelength ranges in which the features according to the invention can be used with particular preference.
- a wavelength range of an electromagnetic radiation is to be understood as a wavelength range of an ultraviolet radiation.
- the person skilled in the art recognizes corresponding types of UV blockers, which also make it possible for a corresponding layer to be made impermeable to such radiation. Examples of such UV blockers are organic UV absorbers and inorganic UV absorbers.
- the proposed layer arrangement can be produced in such a way that a first layer and a second layer or various other layers are placed one on top of the other and then laminated. Coating is therefore, for example, hot lamination or hot pressing of various layers in such a way that the layer arrangement according to the invention is produced. In further application scenarios, it may also be possible to coextrude the corresponding layers and to connect them in such a way that a layer arrangement is created which has layers which are inseparably fused to one another.
- a document of value can be a smart card or a chip card, a passport page or a bank note.
- a smart card which has a layer arrangement which alone forms the card body or forms the card body by laminating further layers.
- an overlay layer typically has a fluorescent plastic layer for laser personalization on the inside and has a plastic layer with UV blockers on its outside.
- fluorescent security features arranged under the overlay layer are not visible from the outside, since the UV blockers do not let UV light through.
- a plastic layer is proposed which has no UV blocker in a first area and a fluorescent plastic layer for laser personalization in the interior in a second area and has plastic layers with UV blockers on its outer sides.
- the invention i.a. the advantage that the fluorescent security feature under the overlay is visible from the outside, the laser personalization of the plastic layer with UV blockers is possible and no additives are required in the plastic for personalization with UV lasers. Furthermore, there is the advantage that a number of personalization features or security features are combined in such a way that both can be provided from a fluorescent material, and thus no first feature is covered by a UV blocker of a second feature.
- a so-called UV laser is a laser that is suitable for removing the layer with the UV blocker.
- the invention uses ultraviolet radiation to excite the security features or personalization features.
- any ultraviolet radiation source can be used for this purpose.
- At least one first layer is provided for accommodating the personalization feature, which has a first area that is transparent with respect to ultraviolet radiation. It is thus possible to arrange a second layer under this first layer or on this first layer, which also has a feature, for example a security feature, without the first layer covering the second layer. It is typically advantageous to design the first layer in such a way that it has UV blocker layers, ie layers that at least inhibit UV light and thus introduce a personalization feature into this first layer, which is formed by means of a fluorescent material.
- the second layer can be arranged under or on a second region of the first layer, with this second layer not being arranged at the point at which the first layer is impermeable.
- the second layer can be arranged under or on a second region of the first layer, with this second layer not being arranged at the point at which the first layer is impermeable.
- fluorescent features in the first layer and place those features in the opaque area of the first layer. It is thus possible, for example by means of a laser, to remove this area of the first layer in such a way that the UV blocker of the first layer is removed in such a way that the fluorescent personalization feature appears.
- a second layer can be arranged underneath, with the first layer enabling a view window, so to speak, onto the security feature of the second layer by means of its permeable area. So that area becomes the second Layer in which the security feature is arranged, not covered by the first layer, for example by UV blockers of the first layer.
- a layer structure is thus created which provides that a personalization feature which fluoresces can be created in the first layer and a security feature which fluoresces can likewise be arranged in the second layer.
- a personalization feature which fluoresces can be created in the first layer
- a security feature which fluoresces can likewise be arranged in the second layer.
- the disadvantage is overcome that a UV blocker of the at least one first layer interferes with the security feature of the second layer.
- the personalization feature and the security feature are each to be interpreted in such a way that a feature is created from a fluorescent material.
- the personalization feature can therefore be described as a personalization feature since it is introduced into the first layer, for example by means of a laser, in such a way that a layer arrangement of the first layer is modified in such a way that a UV blocker on a fluorescent layer is removed.
- the personalization feature lasered into the first layer.
- the security feature of the second layer can, for example, schematically represent a photo of an ID card owner and can generally be used for verification.
- a security feature is always an individual feature and can therefore be understood as a personalization feature.
- Both features have in common that they are created by means of a fluorescent material which can be excited by means of an ultraviolet radiation source.
- two features are created, which are arranged offset in different layers.
- each of the two features can be seen and the disadvantage that one feature could overlay the other feature is overcome. This would generally be feared because corresponding fluorescent features are implemented using UV blockers.
- Such a UV blocker can be used, for example, for an opaque area, with a transparent area or permeable area remaining for the respective other feature.
- the second layer can be referred to as a core layer, which has the security feature.
- a core layer which has the security feature.
- the second layer is thus embedded in two layers of the first type in each case.
- the at least one first layer has a partial layer which can be excited in the wavelength range of the electromagnetic radiation.
- a fluorescent feature for example a personalization feature
- a sub-layer is provided which makes it possible for this sub-layer to be inserted into the first layer to a limited extent along its longitudinal axis, or for further sub-layers to be arranged underneath or above it.
- a sub-layer can thus interact with further sub-layers in such a way that the first layer is provided.
- the sub-layer in a cross section through the layer arrangement would have the same length as the first layer. Additionally or alternatively, it is also possible that the sub-layer does not extend over the entire area of the first layer, but instead only covers part of the first layer. A sub-layer can thus be limited both in thickness and in width. It is therefore possible for the person skilled in the art to introduce any format of personalization features into the first layer.
- the at least one first layer has a further impermeable layer.
- the partial layer described above can be formed from a fluorescent material and an impermeable layer can be arranged thereon.
- the impermeable layer can thus be at least partially removed in such a way that the fluorescent partial layer shines through or becomes visible.
- the impermeable layer can thus be present as a UV blocker that covers the partial layer on both sides.
- a pattern can then be engraved into this impermeable layer in such a way that the fluorescent partial layer appears underneath the engraving. In this way, the personalization feature can be created particularly advantageously.
- the further impermeable layer is printed onto the at least one first layer.
- the impermeable layer can be provided in a particularly simple manner and can be applied to the layer made of fluorescent material. This may result in a technical effect that the corresponding imprinted layer can be present with respect to the document of value by means of an external print. Screen printing, for example, is suitable for applying the impermeable layer.
- the design of the impermeable layer, i.e. the UV blocker cover is also variable with regard to personalization.
- the printed layer can be printed in any pattern and then personalized using a laser.
- the at least one layer and the further impermeable layer result in a substantially planar layer.
- This has the advantage that not the disadvantage of printed layer means that the layer is uneven and thus can be rubbed off, but rather the first layer and the impermeable layer can be arranged flat, ie essentially smooth and uniform.
- the person skilled in the art recognizes here that there can be deviations specific to production and that the resulting layer is essentially flat.
- the feature "substantially” is optional and only refers to possible manufacturing tolerances.
- a level layer can be considered level, for example, if the user of the document of value does not haptically recognize any unevenness.
- the at least one layer preferably has the personalization feature in the form of a laser engraving.
- the laser engraving preferably removes the at least one first layer in such a way that an underlying excitable material is exposed in the form of a pattern of the laser engraving.
- This has the advantage that, for example, a UV blocker of the first layer can be removed in a pattern, so that the fluorescent first layer shines through and the pattern can thus be recognized.
- the feature of a stimulable material underlying it is to be understood that the first layer is arranged on the second layer, i.e. constitutes a coating which is removed in such a way that in a plan view of the first layer the underlying second layer is at least partially visible.
- the electromagnetic radiation is in the form of ultraviolet radiation.
- an ultraviolet radiation source is first required, which excites the corresponding features, i.e. the personalization feature and the security feature, so that optical lighting occurs in such a way that the two features are recognizable will.
- Both the personalization feature and the security feature are preferably formed by means of a fluorescent material. This has the advantage that both features can be excited using a single ultraviolet radiation source and both features can also be verified at the same time without the two features interfering with one another.
- the first and/or the second layer is preferably present as a plastic layer. This has the advantage that a simple layer structure is proposed, which, for example, can first be laminated together or coextruded and then personalized by means of a laser.
- the at least one first layer is preferably transparent. This has the advantage that further optical security features can be introduced into the layer arrangement or into the document of value.
- the first layer can therefore also function as a protective layer.
- a document of value can have the layer arrangement to the extent that the layer arrangement itself represents the document of value, but also that further layers are provided which are inseparably connected to the layer arrangement.
- the document of value can be a chip card, a smart card, an authorization document, a passport or a passport page and a banknote.
- the person skilled in the art recognizes further documents of value which can be provided by means of a layer arrangement.
- the object is also achieved by a method defined in claim 9 for producing a document of value.
- the object is also solved by a computer program product as defined in claim 11.
- the structural features of the layer arrangement are included in the proposed document of value.
- the method is suitable for producing the layer arrangement or for producing the document of value.
- the device is also suitable for producing the layer arrangement or the document of value.
- the method thus implements structural features of the layer arrangement or the document of value and is suitable for operating the device.
- the device is in turn suitable for carrying out the proposed method and for providing the layer arrangement or the document of value.
- the computer program product contains control commands that simulate the proposed method steps and also control or operate the structural units of the proposed device.
- the first layer at the top shows a first layer at the top, which can also be referred to as an overlay.
- the first layer at the top consists of three sub-layers, with the top layer being a plastic layer with a UV blocker, a fluorescent plastic layer underneath for laser personalization and a plastic layer underneath with a UV blocker.
- the disadvantage is to be overcome that a combination of a fluorescent security feature with a fluorescent personalization is difficult or can only be implemented with great technical effort.
- UV personalization using a laser would be possible here, with the additional fluorescent security feature not being visible, since the UV blocker does not let UV radiation through.
- the second layer is shown below, which has an overlay or a standard overlay at the top and bottom and has a core layer in the middle.
- the core layer is the second layer.
- the fluorescent plastic layer 3 is to be exposed in such a way that a personalization feature arises.
- the UV blocker 2 is to be removed, for example by means of a laser.
- the first layer for example an overlay layer, which is shown above, has UV blockers.
- the additional fluorescent security feature which is arranged in the lower, second layer, eg a core layer, would be covered.
- the upper, first layer 2 has an area that is provided without a UV blocker.
- the first layer 2 is shown according to the invention and the second layer according to the invention is shown below.
- the upper layer is thus an enlargement of the lower overlay layer.
- an area is provided which is transparent to ultraviolet light, ie an area without a UV blocker.
- On the right side in the plastic layer there is an area with a UV blocker, i.e. an area that is impermeable to ultraviolet light.
- a fluorescent plastic layer 3 which is intended for laser personalization, is drawn in on the right-hand side in the uppermost first layer. Below this is the other part of the plastic layer with UV blocker.
- the plastic layer 1 without a UV blocker is arranged on the left above the fluorescent security feature 4 .
- the personalization feature is located on the right-hand side and has an area around it that is provided with a UV blocker.
- the layer structure in the lower area of the 2 is designed in such a way that the first two layers, ie the overlay layer, have a permeable area at the top and bottom on the left side, so that the additional fluorescent security feature 4 in the inner layer can be excited on the left.
- the personalization feature which is formed by means of the fluorescent plastic layer on the right such that the plastic layer with UV blocker is removed above and below the fluorescent plastic layer.
- both the personalization feature and the security feature can be stimulated and recognized.
- an ultraviolet radiation source can be provided which applies radiation to both.
- the present 2 radiation is applied to the first layer and the second layer from above in such a way that the additional fluorescent security feature shines through in the second, i.e. the middle layer, and the personalization feature can also be seen on the right-hand side in the first layer, i.e. the overlay layer is. So both features are recognizable.
- FIG. 3 shows a further advantageous film structure or a layer arrangement, again showing an enlarged overlay layer at the top, which is shown at the bottom of the 3 placed at the top and bottom of the middle core layer.
- the left side of the first layer ie the top, is again designed without a UV blocker and the right side is designed with a UV blocker.
- a fluorescent plastic layer which is shown in the top right-hand corner of the present figure.
- the plastic layer with the UV blocker is applied on top of the first layer so that the first layer comprises an area which is UV-opaque.
- the fluorescent plastic layer which in the present figure is partially exposed from above using a laser. This partial exposure creates a pattern, i.e. a personalization feature.
- this layer is applied to the core layer, as in the present invention 3 is entered below.
- the impermeable layer printed on is not shown in the lower area, since it protrudes only minimally from the first layer. It is advantageous if the printed layer has a minimum thickness of 10 ⁇ m. Overall, there is the advantage that the design of the UV blocker cover is also variable for personalization.
- FIG. 4 shows the first layer above, with a partial layer incorporated on the right side.
- the sub-layer on the right-hand side is arranged in such a way that a plastic layer with a UV blocker is arranged above and below it.
- the sub-layer itself is present as a fluorescent plastic layer. It is therefore possible to remove the upper plastic layer with UV blocker on the right side using a laser, so that in turn a Personalization feature is created.
- On the left there is no UV blocker in the top layer, so an underlying security feature is also excitable.
- both a security feature and a personalization feature can be created, both of which can be excited by means of ultraviolet light.
- the element marked on the right can be a security feature which is arranged under a permeable area.
- the personalization feature can be seen on the right, which is laser engraved into an impermeable layer in such a way that the underlying fluorescent material is revealed. Radiation can therefore be introduced in the present top view, so that both the security feature below the transparent area is excited, as is the personalization element on the right-hand side in the first layer.
- a map surface is shown, which can also be a page of a passport.
- figure 5 shows a part A on the left side and a part B on the right side in the upper area, i.e. a permeable area on the left side and an impermeable area on the right side.
- the opaque area ie the area using UV blockers, can be removed using a laser, so that a personalization feature is set such that the fluorescent plastic layer shines through.
- the transparent plastic layers can result in a transparent, planar or even film.
- Part A of the film can consist of one or more layers.
- Part B of the film consists of at least two layers, with at least one outer layer containing the UV blocker and the other containing the fluorescent plastic.
- the layers are not to be understood here as being exhaustive with regard to their enumeration, so that further layers can be arranged here.
- the overlay can have a total thickness of 30 ⁇ m to 800 ⁇ m.
- the corresponding layers should have a thickness that reliably prevents the penetration of UV radiation ⁇ 400 nm, but at the same time allows destruction by means of a laser during personalization. Layer thicknesses of 10-30 ⁇ m are best suited here. Thinner or thicker layers are also possible by reducing or increasing the concentration of the UV blocker.
- a first layer is again shown, with a plastic layer without UV blocker, ie a permeable partial layer or area, being indicated on the left-hand side, and the fluorescent plastic layer on the right-hand side. It is thus possible to also provide the first layer in this way according to the invention.
- This variant is a simple strip foil
- the fluorescent part z. B. can be screen printed with a UV-blocking ink.
- the overlay can have a total thickness of 30 ⁇ m to 800 ⁇ m.
- FIG. 6 shows a device for providing or producing the layer model or the document of value.
- a coextruder is shown here which provides three feeds in the upper area, it being possible for the permeable area to be provided on the left-hand side and the impermeable area to be provided on the right-hand side by means of coextrusion. This can be done, for example, by melting a granulate, which is then pressed through the nozzle. This creates an overlay in cross section, as shown below in the present figure.
- a plastic layer without a UV blocker is shown on the left, and a sequence of a plastic layer with a UV blocker, a fluorescent plastic layer and a plastic layer with a UV blocker are shown on the right side.
- the corresponding layer model is thus provided by means of coextrusion.
- FIG. 7 shows a schematic flowchart of a method for producing a document of value or a layer arrangement with both a personalization feature and a security feature, which can be optically stimulated from outside the document of value, having a provision 100 of at least one first layer for receiving the personalization feature, which has a first area , which is permeable with respect to a wavelength range of electromagnetic radiation and a second range, which is opaque with respect to the wavelength range of electromagnetic radiation, as well as providing 101 a second layer, which is coated by the at least one first layer 102, wherein on the permeable region the at least one first layer, a security feature is arranged in the second layer 103, which can be excited in the wavelength range of the electromagnetic radiation.
- the person skilled in the art recognizes here that the individual method steps are carried out iteratively and/or in a different order can become. In some cases, sub-steps are also to be provided for.
- the device is designed analogously to the method.
