- the second end of the line of weakness has a spiraling portion bounding the crack propagation, the spiraling portion being bent back to the line of weakness. By this configuration, the crack propagation ends at a defined and defined by the spiral formation point. The still adhering part of the lidding film can then be removed in one go from the edge of the container
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the weakening line forms a closed ring.
- the line of weakness runs near the container edge.
- the embodiment described is particularly suitable when the lid film is secured by an adhesive bond or a non-peelable sealing compound on the edge of a container.
- the container may have any geometry in plan view.
- the lidding film may consist of a laminate which has two or more layers.
- the cover film preferably has a carrier layer of a sealable polymer, in particular a polyethylene, and at least one further layer as a cover layer.
- the cover layer may in particular consist of a polyester, an oriented polypropylene or oriented polyamide.
- the carrier layer can in particular also be designed as a sealable peel layer.
- the cover film formed as a multilayer composite film expediently also has at least one intermediate layer with barrier properties.
- the intermediate layer can consist of a metal foil or a metallized polymer layer.
- the cover sheet consists of a multi-layer laminated composite and has a tendency to curl caused by tensions in the layers of the laminating composite.
- the curl of the lid film supports the handling when opening the package or tearing the lid foil. It causes the tongue to set up after the depression of the indentation area, which further facilitates gripping.
- the line of weakness for tearing open the cover film and the tear line for limiting the indentation region pass through the cover layer and preferably leave the carrier layer intact.
- the weakening line and the tear lines can consist of laser cuts, punched lines or perforations introduced into the cover layer.
- the Fig. 1 shows a closed container 2 with a lid film 1 container for packaging food.
- the cover film 1 consists of a multilayer laminate, which in the exemplary embodiment has a carrier layer and a cover layer.
- the cover layer is provided with a weakening line 3 for tearing open the cover film 1, wherein a section 4 of the weakening line has the shape of a tongue.
- FIG. 2a and 2 B the opening of the container is shown by tearing open the cover sheet 1.
- an indentation region 5 is provided which has at least the size of a fingertip and is bounded on at least one side of its surface by a tear line 6 introduced into the cover layer.
- the tearing line 6 delimiting the indentation region 5 protrudes from the weakening line into a region of the cover film 1 which is adjacent to the tongue-shaped section 4 of the cover film which can be removed along the weakening line.
- the indentation region 5 is pressed down by means of a finger, wherein the indentation region 5 of the Lid film 1 is separated along the tear line 6 and at the boundary of the tongue 4 from the remaining surface of the lid film.
- the boundary of the tongue 4 is at least partially exposed, so that the tongue 4 can be detected with two fingers.
- the cover sheet 1 can be torn open along the weakening line 3.
- the indentation region 5 is delimited by the tear line 6 and an edge zone 7 of the cover film 1 which can be fastened to the container 2.
- the weakening line 3 has two ends for tearing open the cover foil, a first end extending to the edge 8 of the cover foil 1, and the second end of the weakening line extending in a tear-strip 9 delimiting distance from the edge 8 of the cover foil 1.
- the lidding film 1 is attached by means of a peelable compound on the edge of the container 2 and can be completely detached from the container 2 and residue.
- the boundary of the tongue 4 can be taken with two fingers and the lid sheet 1 spirally torn open by separating the tear strip 9 and are completely removed from the edge of the container 2. So that the cover sheet 1 can be released in one piece from the container edge, the weakening line 3 runs in a spiral-shaped portion 10 delimiting the crack propagation.
- the representation in Fig. 3 If one deduces that the spiral-shaped portion 10 is bent back to the line of weakness 3. Thus, the crack propagation ends at a position defined by the spiral portion 10.
- the cover film 1 can be detached without residue from the edge of the container 2 by means of a further pulling movement.
- Fig. 4 is the indentation 5 of two tear lines 6, 6 'limited, starting from the boundary of the section 4 in projecting an adjacent region of the cover sheet 1.
- the tear lines 6, 6 ' are aligned radially and extend in the embodiment of the Fig. 4 up to the edge 8 of the cover film 1 or at least up to an attachable to the container edge edge zone 7 of the lid film.

- the lidding film 1 is depressed in Eindschreibbericht 5, wherein the indentation 5 between the two tear lines 6, 6 'along the line of weakness 3 separates from the cover sheet 1 and the boundary of the detachable from the lid film section 4 is exposed.
- the cover sheet 1 can be torn open along the ring-shaped weakening line 3.
- the section 4 preferably has the shape of a tongue.
- the indentation region 5 is arranged at a greater distance from the container wall in a middle region of the cover film 1.
- the indentation region 5 is limited in this embodiment by two tear lines 6, 6 ', which project from the edge of a tongue 4, starting in a region adjacent to the portion 4 of the lid sheet 1.
- the free ends of the tear lines 6, 6' are curved outwards.
- the cover sheet 1 is preferably made of a multilayer laminate which has a cover layer of polyester, oriented polypropylene or oriented Polyamide and a carrier layer of a sealable polymer, in particular a polyethylene having.
- the lidding film 1 may contain one or more intermediate layers as barrier layers.
- the cover film 1 has an intermediate layer of a metal foil or a metallized polymer.
- a multi-layer laminating composite is particularly suitable which has a tendency to curl generated by tension in the layers of Kaschierverbundes. The tendency to curl causes the tongue 4 or a strip 9 to be torn open, when the lidding film 1 is pressed in the indentation region 5 to open the packaging. A curl of the lidding film 1 favors the handling when tearing the lidding film and opening the packaging.
- the line of weakness 3 for rupturing the cover film 1 and the tear lines 6, 6 'for limiting the indentation region 5 preferably only pass through the cover layer of the cover film 1, while at least the carrier layer to be fastened to the edge of the container remains intact.
