Claims (14)

  1. Self-dumping separator having a vertical rotation axis and comprising a drum (1) with solids-discharge openings (10) into which a disc stack (3) made up of a plurality of conical discs (4) is inserted, wherein a material to be centrifuged can be introduced via a feed pipe (6) and a distributor (7) into a centrifugal chamber (2) surrounded by the drum (1), and wherein, in an annular solids chamber (15), disposed radially outside of the disc stack (3), at least two or more ribs (17) are disposed, wherein a separating disc (23) is disposed in the drum above the disc stack (3), characterized in that the diameter (DA) of the ribs (17) is at least 2 mm, but maximally 25 mm larger than the diameter (Ds) of the separating disc (23) above the disc stack (3) and that the distance between each of the ribs (17) and the inner wall of the drum (1) measures at least three millimetres.
  2. Separator according to Claim 1, characterized in that between the ribs (17) and the disc stack (3) there exists an annular gap (S3), which is at least 0.5 mm, and maximally 5 mm wide at all points.
  3. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ribs (17) cover at least 5 percent and maximally 95 percent of the cross-sectional area of the solids chamber (15).
  4. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the centre of gravity (P1) of the rib faces of the ribs (17) is situated above the dumping plane, which is predefined by solids-discharge openings (10).
  5. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the centre of gravity (P2) of the rib faces of the ribs (17) is situated beneath the dumping plane, which is predefined by the solids-discharge opening (10) of the drum.
  6. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ribs (17) have at least one or more openings (22) in their rib face.

  8. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ribs (17) are aligned such that they are leading or lagging by up to 45° relative to the radius of the drum.
  9. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ribs (17) are of flat configuration.
  10. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ribs (17) are configured as multidimensionally curved blades.
  11. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that 8 to 24 of the ribs (17) are inserted in the drum (1).
  12. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the ribs (17) are amalgamated by connecting elements (18, 19, 20, 21) into an annular, pre-assembled insert (16).
  13. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the insert (16) is fixed in its position by supporting elements integrated in the disc stack (3).
  14. Separator according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the insert (16), for fixing purposes, is fixedly connected to the separating disc (23).
