Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a contacting device for the metal mesh jacket of shielded cables, by means of which the metal mesh jacket of a shielded cable is electrically conductively contacted with a connector housing, having the features of the preamble of
In particular, when connecting connectors to shielded cable, it is usually necessary to contact the usually formed by a metal braid jacket outer conductor of the shielded cable for the purpose of making a ground electrically conductive to the connector housing or a part of the cable gland, with the most uniform contact over the Scope of the shielded cable is to strive. Such connectors with a contacting device for electrically conductive connection of the cable shield with a metallic connector housing are known in many different designs executed. From GB 2 137 824 A, a first design form is known, which has two mutually complementary trained ring elements, the inner ring element of the cable shield under cross and the outer ring member is arranged across the cable shield. The ring elements close in their mounted position at least partially mutual overlap a length of the Cable shield between them. The two ring elements have a corresponding conical shape, such that the inner ring element can be inserted with a wedge-shaped cone under the cable shield and the outer ring element has a conically widening inner peripheral surface. When the end cap is screwed onto the housing, the outer ring element is displaced axially in the direction of the inner ring element and clamps the cable shield between itself in the covering area. A disadvantage of this design is that the cable shield after stripping the cable sheath with great care must be cut to a suitable length for contacting.
From DE 199 44 167 A1 a further design form is known, which consists essentially of a contact carrier, a housing receiving the contact carrier, an end cap which can be screwed onto it and a spacer sleeve, and in which the contacting device, which is in electrically conductive connection with the housing, for the Cable shield is formed of two mutually complementary trained ring elements. The inner ring member is the cable shield under cross and the outer ring member arranged across the cable shield, the two ring elements in the mounted position at least partially mutual overlap include a length of the cable shield between them. At least one of the two mutually complementary ring elements is provided with a receiving space for a length range of the cable, wherein the two ring elements together form a take-up device for the excess length of the stripped cable shield, thereby eliminating a circumcision of the cable shield. The winding device is formed by formed on the outer ring member, axially aligned projections which project into the cup-shaped receiving space of the inner ring member in the axial direction. To avoid tearing off of the cable shield during insertion into the annular receiving space, axial clearances are provided with arcuate recesses between the tabs formed as projections. When mounting the Kontaktierelemente must Disconnect cable shield and put between the tines. The strands formed thereby are in the recesses between the tines. The supernatants are taken along with the rotation of the outer ring element and wound up. It is disadvantageous that the two ring elements have a complex geometry, which causes high initial costs and a high price per part. In addition, the assembly is designed by the unbundling of the cable shield time-consuming.
The invention is based on the object to improve a contacting device for the cable shield in electrical connectors of the type described above in such a way that it allows for absolutely secure contacting a simplification of assembly costs and a reduction in unit costs.
This object is achieved by a contacting with the features of
In the contacting device according to the invention, the inner ring element and the outer ring element are arranged across the cable screen. In the overlapping region, they have mutually spaced lateral surfaces which form the receiving space for receiving a length region of the cable shield projecting beyond the axial length of the inner ring element. When the end cap is screwed onto the housing, the outer of the two ring elements is displaced axially relative to the inner ring element and clamps the cable shield between the two ring elements. The inner ring element at least partially overlaps the cable, wherein a first length region of the stripped cable shield runs between the inner ring element and the cable. The inner ring element thus also engages over the cable shield in the first length region of the cable shield. The cable shield is folded by 180 ° about an end face of the inner ring element pointing in the direction of the outer ring element and is overlapped by the outer ring element. The recording room takes up the second length region of the cable shield projecting beyond the axial length of the inner ring element.
In an advantageous embodiment, the inner and the outer ring member are rotatable to each other and form with each other a take-up device for the axial length of the inner ring member superior second length region of the cable shield.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the lateral surface of the outer ring member on the side facing the inner ring member has a plurality of arranged on one or more imaginary circular rings, radially protruding, bending rigid drivers, which extend to the outer surface of the inner ring member. The drivers engage in the assembled state in the cable shield in the stripped area of the cable frictionally. When the outer ring element is rotated, a tangentially acting moment is exerted on the cable shield and winds it up spirally in the receiving space.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the inner ring element has retaining elements for the first length region of the cable shield, which prevent winding of the cable shield in the region between the inner ring element and the cable during winding of the length range of the cable shield to be accommodated in the receiving space. The holding elements can be arranged on an inner circumferential surface or on the outer ring element facing end face of the inner ring member.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the two ring elements are rotatably locked together in the axial direction. To secure the pull, the carriers of the outer ring member are arranged with a arranged on an outer surface of the inner ring member, circumferential bead in engagement. The lock ensures that, as the outer ring element rotates, the overlap area between both ring elements and one of them formed receiving space is retained or the cable shield remains in the receiving space.
In a further advantageous embodiment, the outer ring element on its outer circumferential surface on a radial collar with a front profiling, which is provided for rotationally secure support in the housing. After winding the cable shield is brought by screwing the end cap of the connector, the end profiling of the outer ring member with a complementarily shaped end profiling of the housing in engagement.
Advantageously, the ring elements are formed smooth-walled in the overlapping area apart from the protruding dogs. This allows favorable initial and manufacturing costs for the ring elements.
In an advantageous development of the invention, the inner ring element of the contacting device consists of a shaped metal body and the outer ring element of a molded plastic body. When screwing the end cap of the connector, the inner ring member is pressed against the housing and the cable shield electrically connected via the inner ring member to the connector housing. There are no further contact parts needed for contacting, which makes the installation simple and efficient.
The contacting device according to the invention also has the advantage that it allows an inaccurate stripping of the cable during assembly, in contrast to the prior art, since the ring elements can be moved axially forward by the length of the overlapped area. Thus, the cable and thus also the cable shield can be stripped longer by this length.

The
The
The mounting of the contacting device is such that after stripping the
