Abstract

The application relates to a flat box ( 10 ) with a bottom container part ( 20 ), a top lid ( 30 ) and with an insert ( 40 ) which serves to raise the pack contents when the box ( 10 ) is opened. Description

The present application relates to a box having a lower container portion having a bottom wall and front, rear and side container part side walls, with an upper lid having a top wall and front, rear and side lid side walls, and a liner which is secured in the lid and extends into the container part. As a result of the insert, when the box is opened, the contents of the package, which are preferably smoking articles such as cigarettes, cigars or cigarillos, are raised, so that they are easier to remove for the consumer. In particular, the application relates to a box having the features of the preamble of claim 1.

Such a box is known, for example, from DE-U-296 19 990, which describes boxes in which the insert is fastened on the inside of the lid. The insert has a Z-shaped fold which, when opened, pulls it apart and effects the erection of the contents of the package. The overall construction of DE-U-296 19 990 is therefore complicated. In addition, due to the Z-shaped folding also lead to tilting, so that the box is then difficult to close again.

From CH-A-219 033, CH-A-197 747 and GB-A-349 970 such boxes are also known in which the insert on the one hand with the inside of the rear deck side wall and on the other hand with the bottom wall and / or the front container part side wall is connected. Since the insert is connected to both the lid and the Bahälterteil, it must be elastic in order to compensate for the voltage generated by the opening movement can. Because of this tension, these boxes also show the tendency that the Cover closes more or less automatically as soon as it is released. The handling of these boxes must therefore usually be done with both hands, with one hand open the box and with the other of the contents of the package, such as a cigarette removed.

US-A-4,763,779 (DE-A-33 29 454) discloses a flat box of cigarettes wrapped in an innerliner. Referring to Figure 6 of US-A-4,763,779, the package contents may be lifted by pulling on the inner liner. The lifting of cigarettes is therefore not automatically when opening, but manually, and the consumer needs both hands in any case, since the contents of the package can not otherwise be pulled out of the pack.

Finally, from CH-A-237 898 hinged-lid boxes with container part and lid are known, but do not have an insert.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a carton of the type described above which, however, is simpler in design.

To solve this problem, the container and the lid via the rear container part side wall and the rear lid side wall is pivotally connected to each other and the liner with the inside of the rear lid side wall, but not with the container part, for example, the bottom wall and / or front Container part side wall, connected. This has the advantage that the box can be produced with significantly less material and quite simply. In addition, the handling is also easier, since it can not lead to tilting when opening and closing the box.

The insert may be one or more parallel narrow bands. Preferably, however, the insert is conformed in shape to the bottom wall of the box, with the consequence that in the closed state of the box, the insert extends to close to the front container part side wall and substantially over the entire bottom wall. This advantageously achieves that the entire contents of the package, which is to be raised when opening the box, rests on the insert.

In this case, the insert can be subdivided into two regions, namely a larger bottom region and a smaller side wall region, which are separated from one another via a folding or folding line. The bottom region of the insert is in the closed state of the box on the bottom wall of the container part and extends partially or preferably almost completely over this bottom wall. The insert is connected to the inside of the rear lid side wall via the smaller sidewall area. Thus, in the closed state of the box, the smaller side wall portion of the insert extends parallel to the rear lid side wall and rear container part side wall, and the fold line substantially abuts the line between the container side wall and the container bottom bottom wall. When the box is opened, the associated side wall area and thus also the bottom area of the insert are pulled along in accordance with the movement of the rear lid side wall, wherein the upper edge of the side wall area of the insert is pivoted through 180 °. In this case, the folding or folding line is raised by the height of the side region of the insert. Since the contents of the package rest on the insert, it is lifted together with the insert when opened. In the opened state, therefore, the side region of the insert extends as far as the folding or folding line substantially parallel to the rear lid side wall. At the folding or folding line of the rear bottom portion of the insert is bent by an angle of about 95 to 125 °, so that the insert then runs obliquely downwards and rests on the bottom wall of the container part.

The side wall portion is secured to the rear lid side wall so that the sum of the height of the side wall portion and the height of the rear lid side wall not covered by the side wall portion is equal to or slightly smaller than the height of the box. In this way it is achieved that the folding or folding line rests in the closed box as far as possible exactly on the line between the rear container part side wall and container part bottom wall. Therefore, there is neither a compression of the side area nor a reduction of the box interior by the not directly resting on the bottom wall bottom portion of the insert. The height of the sidewall portion must therefore be at least slightly less than the overall height of the box, otherwise it would come in the closed box to a compression of the side portion of the insert. As a rule, the height of the sidewall area is about 80 to 90% of the height of the box. In this way, on the one hand a sufficient surface for connecting the side wall portion is provided with the inside of the rear lid side wall and on the other hand, a relatively strong lifting of the box inner part achieved.

The pivotal connection of the rear lid side wall to the rear container part side wall is preferably in the center of the box rear wall, ie the height of the rear container part side wall is equal to the height of the rear lid side wall. The box may have a collar in the container part, which serves to stabilize the box and to better storage of the contents of the package. In contrast to conventional boxes, the collar is preferably provided only on the inside of the front and left and right container part side wall. Therefore, the collar preferably has front and side collar sidewalls.

The dimensioning of the collar is preferably such that it extends in the closed box to the top wall, i. the collar is preferably over the height of the lid side walls over the container side walls. This leads to an optimal stabilization of the box in the closed and in the open state and a good fixation of the package contents in the box.

The collar may also have a rear collar sidewall positioned on the inside of the rear container part sidewall. As far as this is available, it has as possible only the height of the rear container part side wall or only slightly greater height, otherwise the attachment of the insert is not or only with difficulty possible.

The box may further have a projection on the front collar side wall and a recess corresponding thereto on the inside of the front lid side wall. When closing the box, the projection engages in the corresponding recess and thereby leads to a secure closure of the box. To open a slight pressure must be expended to pull the projection of the corresponding recess, but this is possible without much effort. Of course, the positions of the projection and recess can also be reversed or they are located on the collar and lid side walls.

In an alternative embodiment, a secure closure of the box may also be provided by projections on both the collar as well as on the lid (front and / or on the sides) are reached, wherein the projections are arranged and dimensioned so that they are passed when closing the box together and lie in the closed box directly behind each other and thus provide a secure closure. There may be a soft click that signals the consumer that the box is closed.

The front lid side wall and / or the side lid side walls may have recesses at their lower edges. These may, for example, be semicircular or longitudinal (e.g., over the entire front lid side wall or the front third of the side lid side walls). Through these recesses, an easy opening of the box is effected, as the consumer with his fingers into the recess (s) and then the lid can swing open more easily. For this purpose, the recess (s) is / are preferably located in the center of the front lid side wall and / or in the front third of the left and right lid side wall.

The box according to the invention preferably contains smoking articles such as cigarettes, cigars or cigarillos as package contents. These can be wrapped as such or in an inner liner as one or two groups of smoking articles placed directly on the insert.

Preferably, however, they are in an insert or product receptacle. This is formed separately from the bottom wall, back and front wall and side walls and can be without fixing on the insert. In order to make the smoking article contained in the insert or product receptacle more easily accessible to the consumer, it preferably has a recess in the front wall which extends, for example, over the upper third or also the upper half of the front wall. In this way, for example, the filters of filter cigarettes or the upper half of cigarettes for the Consumer visible after opening the box and easily accessible. In the middle of the product receiving box may be provided a wall or a web through which the interior is divided into two separate compartments. As a result, two advantages are achieved. First of all, the smoking articles contained in the product receiving box are held more or less vertically by the wall or the web and can therefore be removed without problems even in the case of a more or less completely emptied box, which is particularly advantageous in the case of rectangular or square-shaped boxes. In addition, the front wall of the product receiving box is supported by the wall or the web, so that a more or less pronounced impressions of the front wall, in particular in the largely emptied state of the box, is avoided.

However, in order to prevent the insert box from falling out of the cigarette box, it may also be glued to the inside of the front collar side wall via a tab or, if missing, to the inside of the front container part side wall.

The boxes according to the invention or their components lid, container part, insert and optionally collar and / or insert box can be made of any materials, but preferably all parts are made of the same materials and preferably of paper, cardboard or cardboard, but also of plastic or wood.

The dimensioning of the cartons according to the invention is usually such that about 20 to 30 cigarettes can be contained in the cartons. The side walls are therefore about 7 to 10, preferably 8 to 9 cm long. The total height of the box is about 1.2 to 3 cm (corresponding to 2 to 3 layers of cigarettes), the height of Behälterteil- and lid side walls 0.3 to 2.7 cm, preferably 0.6 to 1.5 cm, and the ratio of sidewall length to height is therefore 33: 1 to 2.5: 1, preferably 15: 1 to 6: 1. The plan of the box is usually rectangular. The container part and lid side walls are usually the same length. The collar sidewalls are slightly shorter so that they fit snugly against the inside of the container and lid sidewalls.

To produce the boxes lid and container part can be folded, for example, from a single blank sheet of paper or cardboard. For wooden boxes, the container part and lid side walls can be prefabricated and then glued or screwed together. Plastic boxes can be produced for example by injection molding. The pivotal connection between the lid and container part can be achieved in that either both parts are made of a paper or cardboard blank sheet, which has a folding or pivot axis between the rear lid side wall and rear container part side wall. As far as the lid and container part are two separate parts, they can for example be connected to each other via an adhesive tape or hinge. If the separate box parts made of paper or cardboard, it is preferred that the entire outside of the box and thus all outer sides of the lid and the container part are coated with a thin paper, which then simultaneously provides for the connection of the lid and container part. The collars are then optionally glued or plugged into the boxes and the insert secured to the inside of the rear lid side wall (e.g., glued). The product receiving box is separated separately e.g. made from a blank sheet, optionally filled directly with the product contents and placed on the liner and optionally glued to the inside of the front collar side wall or in their absence with the inside of the front container part side wall.

This product receiving box 60 rests on the bottom portion 42 of the insert 40 without being connected thereto. The tab 62 is connected to the product receiving box 60 only at the upper edge 63. The effect of this tab is that the product receiving box 60 is connected to the box 10 via the front collar side wall 54, but on the other hand is free to move within the box part 20. When closing the box 10, therefore, in turn, the bottom portion 42 of the insert 40 will migrate toward the front collar side wall 54 and at the same time move down to the bottom wall 21. The product receiving box 60 is inserted into the container part 20 by this movement. On the other hand, by reversing the opening of the box, the product receiving box 60 is lifted out of the container part 20 in a desired manner, this being done automatically by opening the box. During the opening movement, the insert 40 is automatically pulled forward and upward with the cover 30 and thus the product receiving box 60 is raised.

In a further embodiment of the box according to the invention, it may have a recess in the bottom wall of the container part, for example a circular recess near the rear container part side wall.
