  • the sensors are advantageously designed as optoelectronic scanning elements, preferably as reflection or transmitted light barriers. • An embodiment that is particularly simple in terms of construction provides that the empty bottle set up on the fixed housing surface is grasped by the motor-driven cross slide and is displaced on the displacement movement through the sensor arrangement into the empty bottle magazine. In this case, non-depositable bottles are also transferred to the empty bottle magazine, since the bottle is recognized when the empty bottle is pushed out into the empty bottle magazine. In order to enable rejection of non-depositable bottles with this solution variant, additional measures must be taken with which the empty bottle can be brought back into the input chamber after it has been scanned.
