Definitions
- the invention relates to a circular ride according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Another ride is known for example from EP-B-283 872 (Fig. 1).
- a plurality of passenger gondolas are arranged on the circumference of the floor structure so as to be freely pivotable about vertical axes inclined toward the central axis.
- the actual one at the passenger The movement of the gondola that determines the driving impression is dependent on various factors, which primarily include the speed of the floor structure and its tilt angle in relation to the angle of inclination of the gondola vertical axes.
- the tilt angle and the speed By changing the tilt angle and the speed, the swiveling movements of the gondolas and thus the driving impressions can be varied.
- the latter are nevertheless set relatively narrow limits and, moreover, the free oscillation of the gondolas does not permit safe and reproducible control of the gondola movements.
- the desire for a varied variability of the driving impression with a clear and reproducible specification of such variations is met by the invention in that the floor structure and the planet disks have separate rotary drives and that the floor structure with the planet disks can be tilted into a steep inclined position.
- each planet disc leads to changing forces which are directed radially with respect to the respective planetary axis on the passengers, so that they are pressed alternately into their seats or pressed against the safety bar holding them firmly therein .
- there are accelerations and decelerations in the circumferential direction of the planet disks, which occur when the soil structure is erected (tilted) as a result of gravity are intensified and lateral movements - to a certain extent swaying movements - of the passengers.
- the central arrangement of the passenger seats with respect to the planet axis and thus the direction of the passengers' gaze increases the appeal of the driving experience, because the mutual visual contact creates additional impressions and creates a kind of community feeling that increases the pleasure of the pleasure trip.
- a carousel marketed under the name "CALYPSO” has a plurality of turnstiles on a fixed base plate that can be rotated about the central axis, which can be rotated about the planet axes and carry rigidly fastened passenger gondolas at their four ends, the two seats of which are oriented tangentially to the planet axis; in relation to the planet axis, the gondolas 'move' one behind the other (without changing their height).
- the base plate of such a ride can also be inclined by a relatively small (acute) angle and with instead of the turnstiles
- Four individual seats can also be provided in the form of pot-like planet bodies with circularly arranged bench seats.
- the driving impressions of the amusement ride according to the invention cannot occur. This applies in a comparable way to the amusement ride known from DE-U-1 870 749, the bottom plate of which can only be raised up to an acute angle, and the planetary seats of which are fixed tangentially aligned to turnstiles.
- KATAPULT a steep tilt in the ride known under the name "KATAPULT”
- an erectable arm carries three upstanding and laterally arched outrigger arms, at the ends of which support stars are rotatably and driveably supported, which are circumferential around tangential axes Carrying freely suspended gondolas, which are thrown outwards when the stars rotate.
- the two (partly oppositely directed) centrifugal fields overlap with the acceleration due to gravity; however, in this case the planet-like 'stars' are suspended and carry the passenger seats in the form of freely oscillating gondolas, in which the passenger seats are again oriented tangentially.
- the driving impressions are therefore significantly different.
- the planet disks are preferably essentially circular, with the planet axis as the center; however, diametrically opposed circular segments - for example, along a circular chord or in a slightly curved circular arc with the center axis as the center - are cut away and the passenger seats are only on the diametrically opposed sections of the rim bordered by circular arcs arranged.
- the individual passenger seats can be aligned radially to the planet axis.
- the passenger seats are arranged parallel to one another and to the circular segment cutting lines, but in a concave manner on the pane sections bordered by circular arcs, passenger seats (24) arranged on opposite pane sections (22) facing one another. The latter allows better use of the available space on the planet disc.
- the arrangement is advantageously made such that when the ground structure is at a standstill, all of the planetary disks assume a rotational position, in each of which a segment of a circle of intersection extends tangentially to the central axis. From this "flattened" side of the planet disks, which is not blocked by passenger seats, the passengers can enter and leave them, and only from the ring platform concentric with the central axis.
- the floor structure does not need its own platform, which would have to be swung up; only protective grids or the like need be provided to prevent the platform from falling off between the planet disks, which results in a corresponding reduction in weight of the base structure with a corresponding reduction in the capacity of the pivoting mechanism and the drive power for the base structure.
- the illustrated embodiment is a travel business. Therefore, 1 wheel sets 2 are attached to the base frame shown in FIG. 2. Brackets 3 are provided in the usual way for installation at the operating location. Furthermore, an annular platform 4 with steps 5 on one side and a facade 6 on the other side can be attached to the base frame 1.
- a swivel or erection arm 7 is also mounted such that it can be tilted about an axis 8 arranged at one end (and in the region of the outer circumference of the ride). At its other end, the swivel arm 7 carries the floor structure of the fairground ride, designated 9 as a whole.
- An erection cylinder 10 is pivotally mounted on the one hand at 11 on the base frame 1 and on the other hand at 12 on the base structure 9. It can be seen that when the piston is extended from the erecting cylinder 10, the base structure 9 is tilted with the swivel arm 7 about the axis 8 (clockwise in FIG. 2); the dash-dotted line 13 indicates this, the tilt angle is 50 °, for example.
- the floor structure 9 consists of a central drive hub 14, which - driven by the motor 15 - can rotate about the central axis 16. Flanged to the hub 14 are essentially radially extending arms (four in the example shown). Each of the arms 17, which form a turnstile, carries at its free end a planet disk 18 which is mounted on the arm 17 about the planet axis 19 and with Help each of a motor, not shown - can be driven.
- each planet disc 18 has two diametrically opposed sections 20 which are bordered by circular arcs 21 which are concentric with the central axis 19 and which are connected by sections 22, the border of which represents the section line 23 to circular segments which are cut off from the base circle of the arches 20.
- 1 can be a straight line, but it can also be, for example, an arc section with the central axis 16 as the center.
- each planet disk 19 Arranged on the sections 20 of each planet disk 19 are two mutually facing rows of passenger seats 24 which, according to FIG. 1, are oriented radially towards the planet axis 19. At 25, the arrangement of hydraulically controlled shoulder and lap support brackets is indicated for a seat. In addition, the passenger seats 24 are formed in a shell shape that they give the passengers an additional lateral support.
- Fig. 1 also shows that in the (not over the slight basic inclination of the floor structure 9 together with base frame 1 and ring platform 4) the tilted rest position of the ride all planet discs 18 assume a defined position with respect to their axis 19.
- a section 22 which has no passenger seating points radially outwards with respect to the central axis 16, so that the passengers can easily get on and off.
- the diametrically opposite section 22 is secured by a railing 26. Therefore, no platform (beyond the planetary disks 18) needs to be provided on the floor structure 9 - inwards from the ring platform 4.
- a light lattice construction, indicated at 27 in FIG. 1, between the individual planet disks 18 is sufficient.
- Fig. 3 shows a plan view of a planetary disc 18 with a different arrangement of the passenger seats 24. These have parallel sides and are parallel to each other and to the circular segment cut lines 23, but staggered on the disc 18, so that the diametrically opposite central seats 24 have a larger Have a distance from each other than the outside.
- the - not shown - central control not only allows the setting of fixed speed pairs for the rotary drive 15 of the floor structure 9 on the one hand and the rotary drives of the planetary disks 18 on the other hand, but a change in the direction of rotation. While all planetary arrangements have so far been driven in the opposite direction (ie with different directions of rotation) to the central building, synchronism is preferred according to the invention. It has been shown that contrary to expectations, driving the floor structure 9 and the planet disks 18 with the same direction of rotation (with the same drive power) leads to higher acceleration values.
