- the invention relates to an epilation apparatus in which a driving and a driven roller are provided with teeth and form a pair of rollers, the rollers executing a rotary movement which is directed into the interior of the apparatus in the region of their circumferential engagement.
- the aim of the invention is to provide a solution to these problems. According to the invention, this is achieved in an epilation apparatus of the type mentioned at the outset in that the driven roller of each pair of rollers is toothed all around, but the driving roller is toothed only over part of the circumference, so that the rollers only during part of a revolution of the driving roller are engaged with each other.

- the rollers 3 and 4 perform a rotary movement which is directed in the area 9 of their circumferential engagement into the interior of the apparatus, see arrow P. In this way, the pair of rollers 3, 4 is able to grasp and protrude hair in the area 9 to take off. The removed hair is then transported further by the rollers into the subsequent receiving space 10.
- the toothing 5 of the driving roller 3 consists of only one tooth, so that the rollers 3, 4 are in engagement with one another only during part of a revolution of the driving roller 3.
- the driven roller 4 stops, e.g. by the friction in the bearings 11, 12 of the axis 13 of this roller or by contact of the roller 4 with the skin. This considerably reduces the chances of the skin getting between the rollers 3, 4 and being injured.
- the driving roller 3 it is also possible for the driving roller 3 to have a plurality of teeth 14 (FIG. 3), which e.g. can be distributed regularly over the circumference of this roller.
- the driving roller 3 can have a plurality of teeth 15 which are arranged in a group on the circumference of the roller or which in Groups are distributed over the circumference of the roller 3 (Fig. 4).
- the teeth can run in a straight line or like a helix in the axial direction of the rollers 3, 4 and have an involute or other profile in cross section.
- the driven roller 4 is mounted on pivotable arms 16.
- a leaf spring 17 interacts with these pivotable arms, under the action of which the driven roller 4 is pressed in the direction of the driving roller 3. In this way, a perfect circumferential interaction of the rollers 3 and 4 is achieved, whereby the hair to be removed is securely gripped by the rollers and clamped and removed between them.
- the center distance increases when the toothings 5 and 6 are in engagement with one another.
