Abstract

In refuse vehicles having a refuse-filling system arranged behind the driver's cab, an adjacent refuse-compressing device and a refuse-collecting container arranged behind the latter, it was hitherto not possible to achieve adequate compression of the filled refuse inside the refuse-collecting container, resulting in insufficient utilisation of said container. <??>In the case of the invention, there is arranged in the range of action of the refuse-compressing device a counterpressure plate which can be subjected to a pressing force and is mounted in a radially swivellable manner on the ceiling of the refuse-collecting container, said plate forming a counterpressure element for the filled refuse. In this way it is possible to compress, in a uniform manner, the refuse filled into the refuse-collecting container from the start of refuse feeding until said container is completely full and thus an increased utilisation or useful load of the refuse vehicle can be achieved. <IMAGE>
