Abstract

Process for refining fibrous material, esp. mineral wool contg. fibrous and foreign objects, entails a first stage (1) where the fibrous material (50) is reduced in size; separation of fine- grained foreign objects by sieving and sorting; a second size reduction stage (15) for the fibrous objects and; separation of non-magnetic foreign objects by sieving and sorting. Also claimed is appts. implementing the process where, in the first stage, there is, for breaking up material initially, a device with inlet (2) and outlet (3) to which is connected a first sieving device (11) for removal of the fine-grained foreign objects, a second reduction device with inlet (14) for collection of the overflow from the first sieving device and an outlet (16) connected to which a second sieving device (17) takes the reduction device's product.
