The invention relates to a pasteurizable and sterilizable bowl made of plastic with a snap-on lid for semi- or fully automatic filling, sealing, storage, transport and presentation of foodstuffs such as delicatessen fish products or the like and a plastic snap-on lid that serves as transport protection for reclosing.

Plastic bowls for filling or packing foodstuffs, which are heat-sealed and covered after filling, are already known in a wide variety of forms. These plastic bowls, whose contents are also pasteurised or sterilised after filling and heat-sealing, are used primarily for short-term or long-term storage in the refrigerator, for the efficient packaging of foodstuffs, particularly in the delicatessen sector, but also for transporting them in stacks on top of each other with the aim of keeping the otherwise usual outer packaging for such plastic bowls as small as possible.

In order to protect the contents in the plastic trays heat-sealed with foil during storage and transport, lids in a wide variety of shapes have already become known, with which the plastic trays are additionally covered after sealing with relatively thin plastic foil.

These lids also serve to temporarily re-seal the container if the contents are only partially or in portions removed from the plastic tray after the plastic film has been cut through.

It has now been established that the plastic containers in particular are extremely unstable due to the plastic used and do not adequately meet the requirements of fully automatic machine filling and heat sealing and also

deform during pasteurization and sterilization due to insufficient wall thickness.

It has also been found that the plastic containers cannot withstand the desired minimum permeation due to their wall thickness.

This means that despite being cooled, the plastic trays have to be handled quickly due to the sometimes very sensitive contents, otherwise the contents will spoil. Furthermore, the plastic trays are very unwieldy due to their smooth walls, especially when they are used to fill them with food, oils, sheets or the like, which has a very disadvantageous effect.

The object of the invention arose from these known disadvantages, which provides for the development of a pasteurizable and sterilizable plastic bowl with a snap-on lid for the semi- or fully automatic filling, sealing, storage, transport and presentation of foodstuffs, such as delicatessen fish products or the like, and at the same time a matching plastic lid that serves as transport protection and for re-closing.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that the shell consists of copolymers of contact-transparent and dimensionally stable plastic molded thermoplastically by injection molding and has a circumferential edge strip with a structurally roughened surface below the walls.

An example of the plastic bowl with the lid is shown and described in the drawings.

According to Figure 1, the plastic shell body 1 has a perimeter above which forms the sealing surface in the collar 2, which is provided with a beaded edge 3 which is open towards the bottom.

In the base area, the shell body 1 is provided on the one hand with a circumferential support base 4 and on the other hand with a likewise circumferential edge strip 5 which is structurally roughened for better grip.

According to Figure 2, a piece 6 of a polyamide PP heat-sealing film cut to fit the collar 2 of the plastic shell 1 is shown, which has a layer of polypropylene laminated onto its underside 7 using hot-melt adhesive.

According to Figure 3, the snap-on lid consists essentially of the lid base body 8, which has a circumferential guide edge 9 bent downwards at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. Integrated into the base body is a predominantly sharp-edged contour collar, which serves on the one hand to stabilize the lid and on the other hand to securely accommodate the positioning of the contour-adapted support base 4 as shown in Figure 1. The guide edge 9 has locking cams (not shown) on the inside at four different places, which, after the lid 8 has been placed on the plastic shell sealed with the piece of film 6, snap into the beaded edge 3 and thus firmly lock the lid onto the plastic shell 1.

According to Figure 4, 1 is the upper part of the plastic shell 1 and the lower part of the same. 2 is the surrounding collar with the beaded edge 3 that is open at the bottom. The heat-sealed piece of film 6 sits firmly on the collar 2. The lid 8 with its contour collar 9 is firmly locked or snapped on the collar 2 with the piece of film 6, whereby the plastic shell 1 and the lid 8 then form a fixed, but also separable unit.

When storing and transporting the plastic trays, they sit as stacked units one on top of the other, with the surrounding support base 4 of the plastic tray 1 sitting securely against slipping or shifting within the pronounced contour collar 10 of the snap-on lid 8.

Claim for protection Pasteurizable and sterilizable plastic bowl with snap-on lid for semi- or fully automatic filling, sealing, storage, transport and presentation of foodstuffs such as delicatessen fish products or the like and a plastic snap-on lid serving as transport protection and for reclosing, characterized in that the bowl (4) is made of copolymeric thermoplastic injection-molded, contact-transparent and dimensionally stable plastic and has a peripheral edge strip with a structurally roughened surface beneath the walls.
