Description

The present invention relates to a resealable plastic package consisting of a packaging tray and a cover sheet, the cover sheet being partially peelably sealed to the packaging tray.

Packaging goods, especially food, are increasingly being offered for sale in plastic packaging today. These plastic packages have a packaging tray, in which the packaged goods is located and a lid film. The lidding foil is sealed to the packaging tray. Since the packaged goods are often not consumed immediately after opening, it is advantageous if the pack can be resealed after opening.

There has therefore been no lack of attempts in the past to provide resealable packaging. As an example, only the EP 0 564 695 (which discloses a package according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method of manufacturing the same), DE 39 25 746 . EP 0 386 490 . DE 39 41 183 . EP 0 408 516 . WO 97/05023 . EP 0 716 986 . EP 0 595 368 . EP 0 579 262 . EP 0 506 295 . EP 0 427 513 . EP 0 427 512 . EP 0 385 565 . EP 0 381 329 or EP0 379 927 in which either methods and apparatus for producing a resealable package and / or the resealable package itself are taught. All the resealable packages disclosed in the above publications either have the disadvantage of being expensive to produce and / or poorly resealable.

It is therefore the object to provide a resealable plastic packaging that does not have the disadvantages of the prior art.

The object is achieved by providing a resealable plastic packaging from a packaging tray and a lid film according to claim 1.

For the purposes of the invention, a packaging tray is any packaging tray known to the person skilled in the art, which has been produced from a thermoplastic and dimensionally stable single-layer or multi-layer film which is preferably customary for the packaging of foods.

The film must have on at least one of its two surfaces a sealing layer which is peelable. The sealing layer used is preferably a mixture of LDPE (low density polyethylene) and a polybutylene. The mixture preferably contains 15 to 30% by weight, particularly preferably 20 to 28% by weight, of polybutylene. Preferably, the polybutylene has a melt index (MFI) in the range of 0.3 to 2.0 g / 10 min (190 ° C and 216 kg according to ASTM 1238).

Particularly preferably, the packaging tray is produced from a multilayer film with a foamed carrier film, preferably a foamed polyolefin film, particularly preferably polypropylene film.

Most preferably, the packaging tray is made of a film, as disclosed in the patent application with the file number of the German Patent Office 198 40 046.2.

The thermoformed, preferably thermoformed packaging trays are closed after filling with the packaged with a known to those skilled, thermoformable lidding films. As cover films are particularly suitable multilayer films with a gas barrier layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, preferably from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) / Haftvermlttlerschicht / polyethylene / adhesive / middle layer / ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer / adhesive layer / polyethylene, wherein the polyethylene terephthalate layer may be replaced by polypropylene.

If the cover film of the packaging according to the invention has the recess, it may also have SiO x as a gas barrier layer. Preferably, then the cover sheet of PET / SiO x / adhesion promoter / polyethylene is constructed.

The lid film is sealed according to the invention to the packaging tray in the sealing area, wherein the lidding film is at least partially peelable sealed to the packaging tray. For peelable sealing, the lidding film is heated at a temperature of from 130 ° C to 150 ° C, preferably from 135 to 145 ° C, and a pressure of from 3 to 8 • 10 5 N / m 2 , preferably from 4.0 to 5, 0 • 10 5 N / m 2 sealed to the packaging tray. If the packages according to the invention are to have a non-peelable, ie tightly sealed, portion of the sealing area, then the solid seal is preferably carried out at a temperature at least 10 ° C. and preferably twice the pressure than the peelable seal. A solid seal in the sense of the invention is a seal in which the detachment force of the cover film must be at least five times higher than in the area of the peelable seal.

The sealing area on the packaging tray is preferably located on a horizontal plane above the packaged goods and preferably extends around the entire packaged goods on this level. In a polygonal plastic packaging, the lidding film may preferably at least one side of this polygon is tightly sealed to the packaging tray while the lidding film in the remaining sealing region is peelably sealed to the packaging tray. For a round package, preferably 5-25% of the sealing area may be provided with a solid seal.

According to the invention, the packaging tray or the cover sheet has at least one recess, which is preferably located on the horizontal plane above the packaged goods. The recess may have any shape and size, but must be compatible with the shape of the knob. Preferably, the recess is approximately circular with a diameter of 3 to 12 mm, preferably 4 to 9 mm. The recess is preferably drilled or punched into the packaging tray or lid film, punching being particularly preferred.

Also according to the invention, the lidding foil or the packaging trough has at least one nub, which is arranged complementary to the recess in the packaging trough or the cover foil and whose shape with the shape of the recess must be compatible so that it can be inserted through the recess and remains there. Preferably, the knob has approximately the shape of a cylinder whose diameter is preferably from 3 to 12 mm and whose length is preferably from 3 to 15 mm, particularly preferably 4 to 8 mm. Most preferably, the diameter of the nub ≥ the diameter of the approximately circular recess.

Preferably, the nub (s) or the recess (s) is / are arranged closer to the outer edge of the plastic packaging than the sealing area.

Since there is a fixed seal area, the nub (s) or recess (s) are attached to the plastic package so that they are outside the area of the solid seal, preferably diametrically opposite. This arrangement has the advantage that the cover sheet can be stretched and then firmly but releasably connected to the / the knob fasteners.

In a preferred packaging form, the lidding film has the recess (s) and the packaging tray has the nub (s).

The plastic packaging according to the invention may preferably have additional means for reclosing the packaging. FIG. 1 shows a plastic packaging 1 according to the invention, which consists of a packaging tray 2 and a cover film 3. The packaging has a sealing area 4, which is arranged horizontally and extends around the entire packaging cavity 2 around. In this sealing area 4, the lidding film 3 is sealed to the packaging tray 2, wherein the lidding film in the weakly dotted portion of the sealing area 4 is peelably sealed to the packaging tray, while being firmly sealed in the heavily dotted portion of the sealing area 4 to the packaging tray. When opened, the lidding foil is pulled off the packaging tray only on three sides and remains connected to it in the section of the solid seal. The lidding film, a semi-rigid polyethylene terephthalate / EVOH / polyethylene-polybutylene film, has two approximately cylindrical knobs that are 4 mm in length and 7 mm in diameter. The nubs 5 have been embossed by thermoforming with a stamp in the lidding film. The packaging tray 2 has two approximately circular recesses 6, which are arranged opposite the knobs 5 and have a diameter of 7 mm.

The skilled artisan will appreciate that the nubs 5 and recesses 6 can also be arranged at other locations of the plastic packaging and / or in addition to the illustrated two even more nubs / recesses may be present.

The skilled artisan will further recognize that in addition to the knobs still further reclosure the packaging trough or the cover foil can be arranged.

After opening the cover film, the packaging is closed again by the nubs 5 are pressed into the recesses 6 and remain there until the cover sheet pulled off again and the knobs are pulled out of the recesses.

In Figur 2 ist die Kunststoffverpackung 1 gemäß Figur 1 dargestellt, die Noppen 5 in der Verpackungsmulde 4 und die Aussparung 6 in der Deckelfolie 3, jeweils außerhalb des Siegelbereiches sich befinden.FIG. 2 shows the plastic packaging 1 according to FIG. 1, the nubs 5 in the packaging tray 4 and the recess 6 in the cover film 3, in each case outside the sealing area.
