Diese Brillen haben aber den Nachteil, daß schon bei geringem Heben des Kopfes der volle Lichtschein auf die Augen' trifft. Außerdem ist das Blickfeld solcher Brillen beschränkt. Ferner ist vorgeschlagen worden, Schutzbrillen an einem um den Kopf gelegten Band scharnierartig zu befestigen, so daß sie hoch- und niedergeldappt werden können, wozu natürlich eine Hand benutzt werden muß. Noch ungünstiger gestaltet sich die Verwendung von Handschutzschirmen, da diese zur Prüfung von Schweißstellen ganz aus der Hand gegeben -werden müssen. Weiter sind Schutzmasken mit hochldappbarem Fenster und ferner solche Schutzmasken bekanntgeworden, deren ganzes Vorderteil mit einem fest darin angeordneten Fenster an einem um den Kopf gelegten Band hochklappbar ist. Diese Schutzbrille kann auch so ausgestaltet werden, daß eine für beide Augen gemeinsame Blendscheibe oder zwei getrennte Blendscheiben in je einem besonderen Rahmen gefaßt sind, der auf Rollen oder Kugeln des Brillengehäuses waagerecht verschiebbar ist. Zweckmäßig ist die untere Führung für die Blendscheiben mit Vertiefungen versehen, in welchen die Blendscheiben in der Schutz- und Freistellung zur Vermeidung von ungewollten Verschiebungen gesichert sind.
