Portrait clock with an optically front-forming film - bearing a printed or otherwise light-technically applied dial - which has 1-n openings outside of this dial for framing possibly interchangeable pictures, photos, etc.

- The invention relates generally to a portrait clock as a variant of the known picture or motif clocks, according to the title of the description.

The closest thing to the invention is a travel alarm clock that can be found in some photo shops. This is a clock with a cover that is split in two. The cover is shaped in such a way that it can hold a small photo portrait. The travel alarm clock can therefore be called a "portrait clock".

In contrast to the clock just described, the portrait clock according to the invention has a single, undivided front foil, which can simultaneously fulfil the two functions of "dial" and "picture frame" (a representative example of many conceivable appearances of the foil is shown in Fig. 1).

The film introduced as an innovation combines the possibility of framing possibly freely interchangeable pictures with the possibility of producing picture or motif, preferably portrait clocks.

By simply changing the foil, the front of the portrait clock, which otherwise remains the same in its spatial dimensions, can take on a variety of different appearances, which can increase the appeal of the product enormously without much effort, as the different tastes of a broader range of buyers can be addressed.

The film can be easily produced in all its possible variety, for example as a thin sheet using computer/printer technology, in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

If we take the case that in a computer

are stored, this results in 10x10=100 different design patterns for the slide.

If you consider that the number and shape of the frame openings can also vary, you get an idea of the resulting design options for the portrait clock.

A. Description of the exemplary pattern of a foil (see Fig.l):

The film (1) consists of any material of any size, thickness, color and pattern.

It has 1-n arbitrarily shaped openings (2) for framing any picture, preferably photos.

It also bears the printed or light-applied dial of an analogue clock (3).

B. Example of the production of the portrait clock according to the invention (see Fig.2):

The sufficiently described film (1), which can be of any size and, for example, has two rectangular openings, is glued to any appropriately large carrier material (4) and, together with an appropriately large glass pane (5), is provided with a hole (6) for the hand axis of a clockwork.

In order to be able to attach photos or other images behind the film (1), suitable openings (7) have already been cut into the carrier material (4). The openings can be sensibly closed with any door (for example with a locking mechanism).

The resulting unit: carrier material, foil and glass pane can now be connected in a sufficiently well-known manner to a clockwork and corresponding hands, framed (8) and equipped with a support base, or optionally with a hanger.

C. On the commercial usability of the invention:

It would be quite conceivable, for example, to sell creatively designed portrait watches, or, since the foil can in principle be produced with any personal computer/printer, the production of portrait watches according to individual customer wishes in specially opened shops, or in watch or photo shops.

Portrait clock with a foil that optically forms the front - a printed or otherwise light-technically applied dial - which has 1-n openings outside this dial for framing possibly interchangeable pictures, photos, etc. characterized in that a) the film is made of any material of any size, thickness, colour and pattern and b) 1-n has openings of any size and shape and further c) bears the printed or photometrically applied dial of an analogue clock, which makes it d) can have the functions of "dial" and "picture frame" simultaneously. 2. Portrait clock according to claim 1, characterized in that it is set in a standard, generally available and available picture frame made of any material. 3. Portrait clock according to claim 1, characterized in that it is set in a frame specially made from any material in any design.
