• B) 0.1 to 40% by weight of one or more organic solvents selected from N-alkylpyrrolidone, a lower alkylene carbonate and an aromatic alcohol;
• C) 0.1 to 50% by weight of a lower alcohol,
• D) 0.01 to 10% by weight of an alkaline component; and
• E) 0.1 to 20% by weight of a thickener.

2. A method of removing a hair dye composition from hair which comprises applying the dye removing composition to the hair dyed with a hair dye composition and then rinsing the hair, the dye removing composition comprising the following ingredients (A), (B), ( C), (D) and (E) contains

• F) 0.1 to 20% by weight of a thickener.
