Abstract
Un método para tratar aguas residuales implica electrolizar una corriente de mezcla de agua de mar y aguas residuales dentro de una o más celdas electrolíticas montadas fuera de un tanque por lotes. La corriente electrolizada se canaliza a una cámara apaciguadora que se monta sobre el tanque por lotes. Se inyecta una solución polimérica diluida antes de una mezcladora en línea que se canaliza hacia la cámara apaciguadora sustancialmente de forma simultánea con la corriente electrolizada. La solución polimérica y la corriente electrolizada se dispersan como ducha fina sobre el agua de mar y las aguas residuales en el tanque por lotes. La solución polimérica facilita la floculación de las partículas sólidas suspendidas y crea una capa flotante distinta de las partículas sólidas floculadas acopladas con las microburbujas. Se separa un efluente sustancialmente aclarado de la capa floculada y neutralizada antes de la descarga. La capa floculada se bombea desde el tanque por lotes a un sistema de deshidratación donde los sólidos atrapados se compactan a un nivel deseado. Un centrifugado generado durante la etapa de deshidratación de sólidos/lodo se hacer circular de nuevo al tanque por lotes antes de la adición de agua de mar durante un ciclo de tratamiento posterior como un complemento al agua de mar.
