Abstract

1. A self-contained machine for the preliminary fullwidth and tensionless dipping of a fabric prior to its introduction into a treatment installation, of the kind comprising, on the one hand, two superposed rows of drums (6, 7) between which the fabric (1) is returned in order to pass between ramps (10) for the spingling of the vertical lengths (1') defined on this fabric by the said rows, and, on the other hand, a series of electric motors (9) for effecting the drive under a constant torque of the drums (6) of one of the rows, characterized in that placed on the feed circuit of the motors (9), of the type having variable speed and constant torque, is an auto-transformer (20) directly controlled by a compensating roller (14) disposed, in the manner known "per se", at the outlet of the drums (6, 7) of the two rows with a view to being subjected to alternating displacements as a function of the difference in the respective working speeds of the machine and of the treatment installation fed by this latter.
