Abstract
Tratamiento de escoria siderúrgica como aditivo para cemento Pórtland, que pertenece al sector de tratamiento siderúrgico de la escoria siderúrgica líquida o fundida, y se refiere a un proceso que se realiza en un reactor pirometalúrgico para tratar la escoria líquida con agregado de agente modificador, obteniéndose la escoria modificada a ser utilizada en el proceso de fabricación de cemento Pórtland. Para obtener la escoria modificada con actividad hidráulica, se adopten dos enfoques: un primer enfoque donde se obtiene una escoria mayoritariamente amorfa y otro donde se obtiene una escoria mayoritariamente cristalina, con fases cristalinas que presentan actividad hidráulica, permitiendo la presente que el proceso se dirija a ambas condiciones. En el caso de la obtención de escorias mayoritariamente amorfas, se estabilizan CaO y MgO libres de la escoria siderúrgica en silicatos de calcio y magnesio, que se generan en el enfriamiento de la escoria modificada, por el ajuste químico y por el ajuste de una basicidad reducida y controlada. La reducción parcial de los óxidos de hierro, que es una reacción exotérmica cuando se realiza en presencia de agentes reductores a base de aluminio y silicio, genera calor suficiente en la escoria líquida como para permitir la disolución e incorporación de los agentes modificadores en las concentraciones deseadas. En el caso de la obtención de escorias mayoritariamente cristalinas, el CaO se estabiliza en la fase silicato de calcio, o en una solución sólida denominada RO, esta última compuesta por los óxidos: CaO, MgO, FeO y MnO. La reducción parcial de Fe₂O₃ a FeO ocurre por medio de la presencia de reductores, como carbono y/o silicio y/o aluminio, presentes en los agentes modificadores. Algunas de estas reacciones de reducción son exotérmicas, generando calor suficiente para que la escoria líquida esté en condiciones de incorporar los agentes modificadores.Treatment of steel slag as an additive for Portland cement, which belongs to the steel treatment sector of liquid or molten steel slag, and refers to a process that is carried out in a pyrometallurgical reactor to treat liquid slag with the addition of modifying agent, obtaining the modified slag to be used in the Portland cement manufacturing process. In order to obtain the slag modified with hydraulic activity, two approaches are adopted: a first approach where a mostly amorphous slag is obtained and another one where a mostly crystalline slag is obtained, with crystalline phases that present hydraulic activity, allowing the present to direct the process to both conditions. In the case of obtaining mostly amorphous slags, CaO and MgO free of the steel slag are stabilized in calcium and magnesium silicates, which are generated in the cooling of the modified slag, by chemical adjustment and by the adjustment of a basicity reduced and controlled. The partial reduction of iron oxides, which is an exothermic reaction when performed in the presence of reducing agents based on aluminum and silicon, generates sufficient heat in the liquid slag to allow dissolution and incorporation of modifying agents in concentrations desired. In the case of obtaining mostly crystalline slags, the CaO is stabilized in the calcium silicate phase, or in a solid solution called RO, the latter composed of the oxides: CaO, MgO, FeO and MnO. The partial reduction of Fe₂O₃ to FeO occurs through the presence of reducers, such as carbon and / or silicon and / or aluminum, present in the modifying agents. Some of these reduction reactions are exothermic, generating enough heat so that the liquid slag is able to incorporate the modifying agents.
