Abstract

Oppfinnelsen tilveiebringer en fremgangsmåte for bearbeiding av et startmateriale i form av et metalloksidholdig, ubearbeidet metallurgisk slagg for å oppnå et bearbeidet slaggprodukt. Fremgangsmåten innebefatter å blande inn det ubearbeidede slagget med et reduksjonsmiddel for å oppnå en reaksjonsblanding, samt å varme opp reaksjonsblandingen slik at reduksjonsmiddelet reduserer metalloksidinnholdet i slagget, med smeltet metall og smeltet bearbeidet slagg som resultat. Fremgangsmåten innebefatter videre å skille ut det smeltede bearbeidede slagget fra det smeltede metallet, noe som fører til eller tillater at det smeltede bearbeidede slagget stivner, og et fast bearbeidet slaggprodukt oppnås. Det bearbeidede slaggproduktet er presumptivt en fyllmasse til bruk i mursteinsfremstilling eller til utforming av ferdigblandet betong, et drøyemiddel til å spe på sementen med eller for å produsere blandet sement, eller en tilsetning for bruk innenfor bygge- og anleggsvirksomhet.
