Abstract
A cast component with a high resistance to flow is of an alloy with the following composition (by wt %): (a) Mg 0.1; (b) Si: 4.5 - 10; (c) Cu: 2.0 - 5.0; (d) Ni 0.4; (e) Fe 0.9; (f) Zn 0.3; (g) Ti: 0.05 - 0.25; (h) Zr: 0.05 - 0.25; (i) V: 0.02 - 0.30; (j) Mn: 0.1 - 0.5; (k) Hf, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo and/or W: 0.03 - 0.30; (l) other elements 0.10 each and 0.30 in total, the remainder being aluminium.
