Abstract

Ved fremgangsmåten ifølge oppfinnelsen blir frøet som skal behandles, en for-bestemt mengde av fast matriksmateriale og en for-bestemt mengde vann blandet, og blandingen får stå, fortrinnsvis i en beholder hvor luft kan komme inn, men som reduserer fordampningstap, for eksempel en lukket metallbeholder med en liten toppåpning, i et tidsrom og ved en temperatur som er tilstrekkelig til for-øking av resulterende livskraft hos planten, dvs. forøking av oppkomst-, vekst- og utbytte-karakteristika, men ikke nok til at frøet vil spire. Defekte frø kan separeres på grunnlag av størrelse, på grunn av at de sveller, systemisk motstandsdyktighet mot sykdom kan induseres, og gener kan lettere overføres ved en valgt cel-lecyklus.
