Abstract

Se describe un proceso para remover contaminantes de componentes de PET al mezclar etanodiol con el material de abastecimiento de PET a una temperatura cerca del punto de ebullicion de etanodiol y durante un tiempo suficiente para convertir los componentes de tereftalato de polietileno en polimeros de tereftalato de polietileno que son solubles en el etanodiol y forman tereftalato de bis(hidroxietilo) y producir una mezcla de productos a partir de los mismos que contiene materiales insolubles. Los polimeros de tereftalato de polietileno, tereftalato de bis(hidroxietilo) y etanodiol solubles se recuperan de la mezcla de productos.
