Abstract

Se describe un método para incrementar la eficacia de un microbicida. En el método se aplican un microbicida y un compuesto N-alquilo heterocíclico a un substrato o sistema acuoso sujetos a el crecimiento de microorganismos. Se aplica el compuesto N-alquilo heterocíclico en una cantidad efectiva para incrementar la actividad microbicida del microbicida. El compuesto N-alquilo heterocíclico tiene la formula (Y). La variable "n" está en el rango de 6 a 17, y el anillo heterocíclico definido por (a) es un anillo substituido o no substituido que tiene cuatro a ocho miembros. Se describen composiciones microbicidas en donde el microbicida y el compuesto N-alquilo heterocíclico están presentes en una cantidad combinada efectiva para controlar el crecimiento de al menos un microorganismo. Se describen también métodos para controlar el crecimiento de microorganismos sobre varios substratos y en varios sistemas acuosos. La combinacion del microbicida y el compuesto N-alquilo heterocíclico es particularmente util como microbicida en la industria de la piel, la industria de la madera, la industria de fabricacion de papel, la industria textil, la industria agrícola, y la industria de los recubrimientos, así como también en aguas de procesos industriales.
