Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método de determinación de un factor de protección contra la contaminación (PPF) de una composición cosmética, que comprende: (a) un paso de prueba, mediante cualquier método de prueba conocido, la capacidad (a) de la composición cosmética para hacer inefectivo al menos un tipo del contaminante presente en la piel y también lo expresa en una escala de 0 a 1, seguido de calcular dicho PPF por la ecuación A, donde (1-a) indica el daño residual potencial correspondiente a la piel en donde dicha composición comprende al menos un ingrediente conocido hacer inefectivo dicho al menos un tipo del contaminante y dicho al menos un ingrediente es un anti-inflamatorio o antioxidante; o alternativamente, (b) un paso de prueba, mediante cualquier método de prueba conocido, la capacidad (ß) de la composición cosmética para inhibir el contacto de al menos un tipo del contaminante con la piel y que también lo expresa en una escala de 0 a 1, seguido del cálculo de dicho PPF por la ecuación B, donde (1-ß) indica el daño residual potencial correspondiente a la piel en donde dicha composición comprende al menos un ingrediente que se sabe que inhibe el contacto de al menos un tipo del contaminante con la piel y en donde dicho ingrediente es un protector solar, un potenciador de barrera o un polímero; o además, alternativamente, (c) un paso de prueba, mediante cualquier método de prueba conocido, la capacidad (?) de la composición cosmética para eliminar al menos un tipo del contaminante presente en la piel, también lo expresa en una escala de 0 a 1, seguido del cálculo de dicho PPF por la ecuación C, donde (1-?) indica el daño residual potencial correspondiente a la piel.
