Abstract
En la presente se describen composiciones y métodos para separar preferentemente mercurio de un producto metálico cuando ambos están presentes en un lixiviado de mineral. La separación se realiza agregando un agente precipitante y un coagulante a un lixiviado de mineral seguido de la separación de un precipitado cargado de mercurio para recoger el lixiviado tratado. El lixiviado tratado incluye de alrededor de 0 a 50% en peso de mercurio y de alrededor de 90% a 100% en peso del producto metálico presente en el lixiviado de mineral. En formas de realización, el método incluye además la adición de un floculante al lixiviado de mineral antes de la separación del precipitado cargado de mercurio.
