Abstract
Se describe un método de mejoramiento de la cinética de lixiviación y la recuperación de metal durante la lixiviación atmosférica o sustancialmente atmosférica de un sulfuro metálico. En algunas modalidades, el método puede comprender los pasos de: (a) producir un concentrado de flotación de sulfuro metálico; (b) procesar el concentrado de sulfuro metálico en un circuito de activación reductiva que opera a un primer potencial redox, para producir un concentrado de sulfuro metálico reductivamente activado; y, (c) procesar subsecuentemente el concentrado de sulfuro metálico activado en un circuito de lixiviación oxidativa para extraer riquezas metálicas. En algunas modalidades descritas, los pasos de activación reductiva pueden ser empleados antes de los pasos de lixiviación oxidativa (incluyendo la lixiviación en montón o los pasos de bio-lixiviación). En algunas modalidades, pueden ser empleados pasos de procesamiento fisicoquímicos durante la activación reductiva y/o la lixiviación oxidativa. Se describen también los sistemas para practicar los métodos anteriormente mencionados.
