Abstract

Se proporcionan bacterias que utilizan ácido láctico (LA), modificadas genéticamente para expresar y opcionalmente secretar enzimas que degradan polisacáridos, tales como celulasas, hemicelulasas y amilasas, y sus usos. Las enzimas que degradan polisacáridos son ventajosas para procesar desecho orgánico de manera que el desecho orgánico puede usarse como un sustrato en procesos industriales de fermentación, particularmente en la producción industrial de enantiómero(s) distinto(s) de ácido láctico. Además se proporcionan vectores y construcciones útiles para modificar genéticamente a las bacterias que utilizan LA.
