Abstract

Un proceso (10) para la producción de hidróxido de litio, el proceso que comprende los pasos de: (i) Causticizar el cloruro de litio (12) con hidróxido de sodio (16) para producir un producto de hidróxido de litio; (ii) recolectar los sólidos que resultan de la causticización del paso (i) y filtrar (22) el mismo; (iii) los sólidos filtrados del paso (ii) se hacen pasar a un paso de calentamiento (32) en el cual se produce hidróxido de litio anhidro; (iv) filtrar (34) el producto de hidróxido de litio anhidro del paso (iii); y (y) extinguir el hidróxido de litio anhidro del paso (iv) con agua para producir cristales de monohidrato de hidróxido de litio.
