Abstract

Un método para preparar una levadura industrial, levadura industrial y aplicación a la producción de etanol a partir de, por lo menos, una pentosa; la presente invención se relaciona con el campo de métodos para obtener cepas de levaduras que producen etanol, con las cepas producidas de esa manera y con la producción industrial de etanol a partir de dichas cepas; más particularmente, la presente invención describe en su aspecto más general, un método para preparar levaduras a partir de cepas Saccharomyces cerevisiae mediante la integración en el genoma de la levadura de -al menos- un gen que codifica para xilosa isomerasa y de -al menos- un gen que codifica para xilitol deshidrogenada; la cepa de la invención resulta de utilidad para producir etanol a partir de un medio que comprende al menos una pentosa, con preferencia xilosa o una mezcla de xilosa y ara vinosa.
