Abstract
Un proceso en húmedo para recuperar el contenido de plomo de pasta de electrodo o lodo impuros de baterías de plomo desechadas y/o minerales de plomo, en forma de compuesto de plomo de alta pureza, comprende: a) suspender el material impuro que contiene el plomo en una solución acuosa disolvente del sulfato de plomo de una sal perteneciente al grupo compuesto de los acetatos de sodio, potasio y amonio; b) agregar a la suspensión ácido sulfúrico en una cantidad suficiente para convertir todos los óxidos de plomo en sulfato de plomo soluble en la solución de sal de acetato y agregar lentamente a la suspensión cualquiera de peróxido de hidrógeno o un sulfito o burbujear anhídrido sulfuroso a su través, en una medida adaptada para reducir cualquier dióxido de plomo a óxido de plomo convertido eventualmente por el ácido sulfúrico en sulfato de plomo soluble; c) separar una solución limpia de sal de acetato que contiene sulfato de plomo disuelto, de un residuo en fase sólida que incluye todos los compuestos impurezas no disueltos; d) agregar a la solución separada de sulfato de plomo cualquiera de carbonato o hidróxido del mismo catión de la sal de acetato de la solución disolvente del sulfato de plomo, para precipitar carbonato/oxicarbonato de plomo u óxido o hidróxido de plomo de alta pureza, respectivamente, mientras se forma sulfato del catión, soluble en la solución de sal de acetato; y e) separar el compuesto de plomo precipitado de alta pureza de la solución de sal de acetato que ahora contiene también sulfato del mismo catión de la sal de acetato. La solución de sal de acetato que contiene también sulfato del mismo catión de la sal de acetato, separada del compuesto de plomo precipitado, se recicla hacia el paso a) y el contenido de sulfato del mismo catión en la solución se mantiene por debajo del límite de saturación por enfriamiento continuo o periódico de al menos una porción de la solución separada del compuesto de plomo precipitado, para causar la cristalización selectiva de la sal de sulfato del mismo catión de la sal de acetato, y removerla como subproducto. Opcionalmente, la fase sólida separada que comprende compuestos insolubles de plomo y/o concreciones no disueltas de compuestos de plomo es tratada en hidróxido caliente concentrado del mismo catión de la sal de acetato seleccionada, y se convierten estos compuestos de plomo y/o concreciones no disueltas de compuestos de plomo en plumbitos solubles, y el licor alcalino separado que contiene plomo puede agregarse a la solución limpia de acetato para precipitar todo el plomo recuperable en forma de óxido o hidróxido de plomo de alta pureza.
