Abstract

Cuando se mezcla dos gases de diferente temperatura y/o composición en un convertidor para producir SO3 a partir de un gas que contiene SO2, un primer flujo de gas que contiene SO2 es introducido dentro del convertidor a través de una tubería de suministro central y pasado a través de un intercambiador de calor integrado colocado alrededor de la tubería de suministro central, la cual es atravesada por el primer flujo de gas desde la parte inferior a la parte superior. Un segundo flujo de gas es suministrado vía un conducto de anillo colocado sobre el intercambiador de calor integrado, desde el cual el segundo flujo de gas es descargado a través de una pluralidad de aberturas y es alimentado dentro del primer flujo de gas, de tal forma que se mezcla con el mismo. Luego, la mezcla de gas obtenida es suministrada a una etapa de contacto del convertidor, en la cual el SO2 es al menos parcialmente convertido a SO3 sobre un catalizador.
